Share all your thoughts and reviews about Chef Mickey's I HAVE NEVER eaten there and want to get an idea before we book it how good it is there???:confused3

I too prefer breakfast over dinner. The food is much better IMO. The character interaction is good too. My serious minded, never take a joke, fuddy tuddy, never crack a smile....FIL.... LOVE IT!!!! He laughed more than I've ever seen him laugh. I've got great pictures to always remember this happy moment.

We are not fans. The last 2 breakfasts we had there food was cold. And service was terrible. We were underwhelmed. We gave them another chance as everyone can have an off day. But we were grossed out. For that price of the buffet it should at least be hot. We were right smack in the middle of breakfast at 8:30AM so it's not like we were the last seating by a long shot.

It's off our list now. I know others love it. Just not for us. The napkin thing bugs me too- twirling a napkin- food flying off kids napkins onto your table. - um no thanks.

Now we have 4 kids of our own and even they were wowed by it last time. They would rather be on rides than sitting at a breakfast.

We ate breakfast there yesterday....the breakfast was definitely better than the dinner we ate there last year, but was about the same as any of the breakfast buffets...edible but not fantastic. We ate at Tusker House and Crystal Palace this trip as well...CP was the best of the buffets.

It does have good characters (this was the only time we saw Minnie) so I was glad we did it. (We try to get MOST of our character autographs and pics at meals so we don't have to stand in line at the parks).

We've eaten dinner there a few times, the last being May 2007. The food is not fantastic or gourmet, but it is good, and the atmosphere is a lot of fun. We usually go on our first night, and it puts us right in that Disney spirit! My boys love the dessert bar....I pretty much liked everything, including the parm. mashed potatoes!

We LOVE this place for breakfast & dinner. Eating here gives you a great Disney feeling. It's good food & fun. A must do every trip.

We like Chef Mickey's! Dinner was fine...it was our first night there (ever-well DH and the kids) so we were all just thrilled to be at the World and for DS & DD to meet Mickey, Minnie and pals. We are more vacation breakfast people and ate there 3 times in one trip. It is general good breakfast buffet food.
We also like being able to meet and greet without the lines in the parks.

My family and I have had dinner there a few times and each time it was a good experience, plus the character interaction was great.

We had a great experience at Chef Mickey's last week. The food was decent to good and the service was so excellent. She took pictures of my kids and I since my husband was not traveling with us. She was excellent!

The food isn't the greatest (we do like breakfast a lot more than dinner) but the character interaction more than makes up for it. We like to eat at off hours, our favorite is a "brunch" around 11am.

we liked dinner over breakfast. there were way better breakfasts that we enjoy like 1900 Park Fare and Crystal Palace, oh and Tusker House.

I would only go back for dinner. The food was very good, but save your room for all the desserts. I made a huge dessert plate with nearly one of everything going around the outside of a dinner plate and had a bowl of ice cream with lots of fun toppings on in the middle of the plate. that was the best part of the meal. me and my DH shared the plate i made. the characters were also great. we got there early and the place was not all filled up in the section we were put in, closest to the check in area. All the characters came around quickly and then we were seeing them again, and we were not there all that long. the pork was a bit too bloody for us, though the chef said juices dont need to run clear in pork anymore, that that is an old saying. gross to us! we did enjoy everything else, like the mickey raviolis.

the breakfast was so loud, i agree with that. it would've been nicer if we got the window seat but we didnt know it was there until our visit. the food was not the biggest selection. not a lot, or any, danishes, donuts, just crossaints and bagels.

We had dinner there last week and found it just ok. The character interaction was very rushed and the service was acceptable until we had to wait a LONG time for the check when we were finished.
We're not going back but I'm glad I experienced it once.

Never done breakfast, but dinner was good.

And yeah, as a PP mentioned, the napkin twirling thing grosses me out :rotfl: :scared:

Breakfast is good.:thumbsup2

Dinner is the worst!!! Won't go back for dinner again. Worst food and service I've ever had in 17 visits to WDW.
  :headache:

It isn't one of our favorites.
Although now that I think about it- it was dinner and it seems everyone is saying dinner is not as good as breakfast. We've just never done breakfast there because it's difficult (time consuming) to get from resort to resort by their busses/etc. So generally we don't do breakfast at resorts- it would make us so late into the park and/or have to get up too early for us. I'm wondering now why dinner is so much worse?

We didn't find the food very edible and we're NOT hard to please at all- at all. It was just cold and kinda bland/not tasty. The character interaction was "okay"- not great- which is why I wouldn't compare them favorably with all the other places we've been where all the characters were great!
