Chef Mickey's vs. Ohana breakfasts

Hey all -

So we currently have an ADR for Chef Mickey's one morning and a ADR for dinner at Kona Cafe that night (planning on doing a MK day so we can ride the monorail back and forth from these spots). Wife is less than excited about Kona, but we both really wanna spend some time at the Poly to see the grounds and I think the little guy will like it a lot. Ohana dinners were all filled up by the time we started looking (and I've read very mixed things anyway about them). To be honest, I'm somewhat excited about Kona's dinner (specifically the Tuna Oscar) but not 100% married to it.

I've read very mixed things about Chef Mickey's though...and just looked up reservations available and found a Ohana ressie around the same time as my Chef Mickey's. Is that an upgrade?

My thinking is that then we could do the character breakfast AND do the Polynesian in one trip and not have to be going back and forth and back and forth all day. PLUS we are only on the basic dining plan, so doing the 2 table services this day means we're paying for one out of pocket (Chef Mickey's, more than likely). My thought was we could do Ohana breakfast and then I would open it up for suggestions for a CS dinner within the MK park itself and not have to drag ourselves away from it.

So basically, it comes down to Chef Mickeys and Kona vs. Ohana and CS to be named later at Magic Kingdom. The wallet likes the second option better; will the stomach?

Thanks for the help everyone!

I would go with Chef Mickey's because everyone seems to say their breakfast buffet is great, plus it's an amazing atmopshere with the fab 5 Disney characters.

I don't know. I've done both for breakfast so I guess it's what your looking for. O'hana's is a little more laid back I think. The times I've done breakfast there I don't feel as rushed. We typically prefer to do Chef Mickey's for dinner though so my choice for breakfast would be O'hana's.
