Chef Mickey's or Tusker House

Character meals are so expensive now and with the socially distancing, I'm really on the fence about booking a character meal. DD is 9 now and would probably be more into rides and not characters, but it also feels like a shame to go to Disney and not do a character meal. So my question is two fold-is it still worth the cost with social distancing, and if we do reserve a character meal, is TH or Chef Mickey's better? Thanks!

I love Tusker House but honestly it’s a matter of opinion+ which meal you’re going for. Dinner TH is better, definitely.

An interesting question. One that doesn't have a wrong answer too. :)

I'd give the edge to Tusker House because its actually in the park so you don't lose travel time.

If we got to TH it will be breakfast in the park. What does Chef Mickey's have for kids? I don't see it on their menu. This would be for dinner after day at Discovery cove. THanks!

Mickey waffles are loved by basically all kids and are at Chef M and TH. TH also has Simba waffles. Chef M is much more difficult to get a reservation for. I’ve been to Chef Mickey’s for breakfast and dinner and TH for dinner, so can’t say about TH for breakfast.

We've always preferred the food at TH over CM. We just ate at TH in early December for breakfast and it was very good. I actually liked the socially distanced experience - the characters came to the middle of the room, interacted with each table from a distance (you could get up and take selfies from a distance) and then did a little dance - it was really cute.

First part of question, no, not worth it with the little interaction you will receive. First few years is great and memorable, but the novelty wears off and the price doesn’t justify what you get. If I had to still pick a character meal
now, it’d probably be Garden Grill. My favorite though and well worth the price in food quality and selection is Akershus. But it’s currently closed. Can’t wait for it to reopen.

We got a 5 pm reservation at CM for our last day of vacation. Not sure if I will keep it based on what I am hearing here. TH has no availability on our AK day. I booked Yak and Yeti instead, since we like their food.

Anyone eat at chef Mackey recently. I have a 1205pm reservation in January It says breakfast on my reservation but that doesn't make sense.

Is it brunch?
