Chef Mickey's or Akershus?

This is the first year we are actually doing ADR's and I'm both excited and overwhelmed. I want to do EVERYTHING!! But alas I cannot. So I'm narrowing things down and I think I've got everthing worked out except this:

I must choose between Chef Mickey's for dinner OR Akershus for dinner. If it matters, I have a girl age 7 and a boy age 6 (and yes, he still like princesses). The only other character dining we're doing that week is 1900 Park Fare for breakfast.

Please help me make a good decision here. We've never been to either one. I just want to know what you would choose. Thanks! :thumbsup2

I would choose Chef Mickey's. The food here is better IMO. Character interaction is great at both spots but we did not care for the food at Akershus for dinner.

I feel just the opposite. We have always had good food at Akershus, not so at CM.

Everyone's tastes are different, restaurants have bad nights, etc. This is just what I have personally experienced.

I would pull up the menus on AllEars.net, show them to your family and see what looks good to everyone. Have fun what ever you decide! :goodvibes

Well, its looks like we'll get to experience BOTH! :woohoo:
I rearranged some things and now my girl will have princess night for dinner and my boy will have chef mickey's. I'm so excited that I was able to work things out. Persistance paid off juggling things around. ;)
Thanks for your opinions.

That's wonderful news! Will you report back and let us know how you liked each? I need to make a similar decision for this summer :goodvibes

Just wanted to chime in because I had this exact question a few months ago. I was planning our trip for this weekend. We were there in Oct so we went to the Contemporary to take a look at Chef Mickey's. I didn't like it.
There wasn't great energy, nothing like I expected.

Characters were kind of blah, just walking through, the space was also just, meh. No real Disney magic feeling. Maybe it's just me, but I was used to Goofy's Kitchen in Disneyland and expected it to be similar.

While I was in Epcot, I snuck in to take a peek at Akershus and it was so beautiful. Really nice.

I promptly cancelled our Chef Mickey's, booked 1900 Park Fare instead, along with Akershus.

I would pick Akershus any day before Chef Mickey. Last fall we tried Chef Mickey for breakfast and the food was cold and the restaurant was sooo noisy. Plus at Akershus, it's a menu retaurant and you get the picture with a princess (usually Bell) for free.
