Hi Everyone,

We cant decide between an ADR at Chef Mickey's for breakfast or 1900 Park Fare Supercalifragalistic breakfast. Any opinions would be greatly appreciated, never been to either.

Thanks,
Mel

Depending on when you're going, 1900 Park Faire will be closed this summer. They have relocated it within the GF, but it is not buffet during the closure. You will have to check with WDW DINE for the dates of your stay. Call soon because both book quickly.

Otherwise I enjoy both places, but if I had to choose one it would be Park Faire. Each has different characters. 1900 has Alice, Mad Hatter, Tigger, Pooh, and Eyeore. It also has Mary Poppins and once Burt was there too. Chef Mickey's has Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, and Pluto. Either way, you'll have a great time. Have a great trip!!:goodvibes

Another vote for PF, if it's open, when you go. We finally did the breakfast there last year, for the first time (have done dinner 3 x) and really enjoyed it. It was our last day (morning really) and my DD 7th :bday:. We had a wonderful time. We were able to take our time, we had a fairly late ADR 10:20, or so. The room was almost empty so DD had plenty of character time. The Mad Hatter, Alice, and Mary Poppins were particularly wonderful. The Mad Hatter was quite mad! :rotfl2: He and Alice played off each other very well. DD had all the face to face time she wanted with the 3 many ones. She talked to MP in the lobby for at least 10 mins., I think.

Also, the food was very good. Even though the room was mostly empty (only 2 tables were left seated when we left) they kept replenishing the buffet. We've found this to be true at dinner, as well.

We would be going back in Sept., for B or D, but can't since it'll be relocated, and pre-plated. We may try Crystal Palace, for the first time.

UPDATE: The Grand Floridian Resort's 1900 Park Fare will close for refurbishment Monday, July 9, 2007, through Monday, October 1, 2007, and is scheduled to reopen October 2, 2007. During this time, the Grand Floridian Cafe will become the site for both the "Supercalifragilistic Breakfast" and "Cinderella's Gala Feast." These will both be character meals, but NOT buffets (as they are at 1900 Park Fare) -- they will be pre-plated character meals.

The a la carte menu usually offered at Grand Floridian Cafe will NOT be available there during this time. Citricos (located on the second floor of the Grand Floridian), however, will expand its hours and menu to include a la carte breakfast, lunch, and dinner seven days a week. If you want to dine at the Grand Floridian Cafe during this time, it can be ONLY for the character breakfast or character dinner -- you will NOT be able to book a reservation otherwise.

In addition, the Wonderland Tea Party will NOT be available during the 1900 Park Fare refurbishment.

The only character breakfast we've done, besides PF, is the PSB in Norway. But, like you said, boys may not enjoy just having the princesses there.

Hope this helps! Have fun. :goodvibes

The more fun one I think is definitely Chef Mickey. While the Mad Hatter can be fun, he barely stopped at our table and then there's only Mary Poppins, Alice and a Pooh character. To me Chef Mickey's atmosphere is just so much more fun than any of the other character meals.

Well, that's true too. I think it's a bit less frantic at PF, but CM's is definately more "fun".

Chef Mickey's is a lot of fun, but we have had some really fun interraction with Mad Hatter and Tigger in particular at 1900. It sort of just depends on the actual cm's in the character mode that day, regardless of which one you do. Also, are your kids boys or girls? If you have little girls, then 1900 might be good as you will see Mary Poppins, Alice, and usually the two mice from Cinderella (Suzy and Perla) as well as Pooh characters. I think the food at 1900 is a bit better, for one thing they have an omlette station which Chef Mickey's does not. 1900 Park Fare also has some nice things like strawberry soup and bread pudding with vanilla sauce, french bread french toast and some other things that are very good.

Chef Mickey's is just sort of the quintessential character meal, you can wave your napkin and the big mouse himself is there. I can't go to WDW without going there but again, find the food at 1900 Park Fare's breakfast a bit better. But thats just my opinion!

In the end you cannot go wrong with either, it really comes down to what characters your kids are into. I love them both!

What exactly does 'pre-plated' mean?
