Okay, so I caved in and just made an ADR for Chef Mickey's on our first park day for 7:10 am.

Since I never even thought of trying this restaurant before finding the DIS a month ago, I could use your help on a few questions:

1) With a 7:10 am reservation, we should have no problem making it to MK for rope drop, right?

2) This is a non-EMH day. Am I correct that the monorail won't be running early enough to get us to our ADR?

3) I've only entered the Contemporary via the monorail before. How much time do I need to allow to make it on time? If you could give me an estimate from the I-4 off-ramp that would be great (or, if you're really knowledgeable, from the Sea World area); if not, just from the non-resort guest parking.

4) Is it true that I could just walk from the TTC to the Contemporary? Would this be faster (walking to the hotel, then monorail back) than parking at the hotel and then reparking at the TTC? How's the walk?

5) I'm travelling with two newbies and made the reservation in part to get out of having to stand in line for character autographs in the parks. :rolleyes1 Is there good "face time" with the characters, and will they stop to take pictures?

6) How long should I anticipate being at Chef Mickey's?

That is correct (depending on rope drop time)

take the monorail to the park, do not park at the TTC

That's a good thing, park in the Contemporary lot and leave your car there for the day!!

From the Sea World area, give yourself 30 minutes minimum!

4) Is it true that I could just walk from the TTC to the Contemporary? Would this be faster (walking to the hotel, then monorail back) than parking at the hotel and then reparking at the TTC? How's the walk?

again park and stay at the resort lot

you will be able to get all the pics and autographs you want of the FAB FOUR

6) How long should I anticipate being at Chef Mickey's?

an hour is about right

just a note...you will NOT be able to leave your car at the Contemporary. You will get a 3 hr parking pass at the guard shack so you may park your car for your meal, not to enjoy your day at MK.

I wouldn't feel comfortable leaving my car at the Contemporary all day. Thanks for the suggestion, though.

We went for dinner last year in August and did not receive a 3 hour parking pass. We did go back to our resort after the meal though after a monorail ride.

All characters will stop by the table for pics............since it is buffet, you can eat as fast as you want.......but an hour is pretty typical.

I can't help you eith the monorail.

But, don't be surprised if the "newbies" still want to see characters inside the parks! They just can't help feeling the "magic"!

I would just park in the Magic Kingdom lot, that way you won't have to bother with moving your car after breakfast. Maybe drop off part of the group at the hotel and then park. You can actually walk from MK to the Contemporary it takes less than 10 mins and will be a good way to wake up and work up the appetite before a wonderful CM's buffet.

By the way there are usually 5 charaters (Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald and Pluto) were there in Sept.
