Dh and I were talking last night about Chef Mickeys how it used to be in DTD (formerly know as Disney Village in the 90's) and it was a sit down restaurant. Does anyone remember or has anyone ever eaten there like we did?

I remember eating there! But when I was there it was back in the 80's (actually it would have been 1985---I was 9!). I loved it and we had a really enjoyable time. It was so much calmer back then not having to go to the buffet and worry that you were going to miss a character while your were gone.

Yes, I remember eating there many times. It had a great view over the water. One time my DM ordered the lobster and it happened to be a whole lobster-she about passed out when they brought the whole thing by with the eyes looking at her! It was a good restaurant as well.

I have pictures of my daughters outside with the statue of Chef Mickey. That brings back great memories.

I used to eat the old Chef Mickey's on all our family trips in the late 80's and early 90's!

We loved it also and were so disappointed when we found out that it was no longer there and that they moved it to the CR and made it a buffet. It was always one of our favorites places to eat at and we dined there every vacation.

My DM would have done the same thing.:rotfl: She would have made them take it back as she would never been able to eat it and I would have been mortified.:scared1: But then again I would have been a lot younger than I am now so when my DParents do something, nothing bothers me anymore. Well to a certain point.

This is what it's all about is the memories. When we first started going to Disney, DTD was called Disney Village and I still say DV to this day. My son corrects me all the time and says, mom it's DTD. To me it will always be Disney Village.

OMG I saw your picture and started to cry because all those memories just came flooding back. Now I have to go through my pictures and find ours from Chef Mickeys.

Chef Mickeys [Village Version] had the best Chicken Pot Pie...mmmmm

I've still got the Chef Mickey hand puppet in the picture at home in my study.

I do! I went there with some girlfriends around, oh, '91 or so? We had so much fun. I remember we got some ridiculous drinks that were made with dry ice or something. I think they may have lit up, too.

We moved away from Florida in '99 and didn't go back to Disney until my son's 5th birthday. I was so disappointed when I saw how Chef Mickey's had changed. Of course, my kid loved it, but what does he know? :rotfl:
