Chef Mickey's for Dinner good?

We went to Chef Mickey's for dinner and May and the food wasn't great. For the OOP cost we spent on that meal, I was hoping the food would be a little better than regular buffet food. I guess you are really paying for the character meet instead of the food. I wouldn't go back for dinner.

This will be our 7th trip to WDW and we have ADR for supper at CM and we always make sure to eat there on each trip. The character interaction is WONDERFUL we have never been disappointed with that. It is nosey but we expected that because it is fun place for the whole family but not so nosey it was unbearable. We have never been displeased with the food it has always been GREAT, there may have been things I did not like but overall was a FUN happening place.

I'm surprised so many didn't like the food. We have gone twice, the last being July 2007. We went with my sister's family and all loved it! My sister's twins were celebrating their 9th birthdays and it was great! My brother in-law is very fussy and he even loved the prime rib. We are going back in three weeks. To us it is the perfect way to end our trip. I really like the food and the character interaction. Everyone has their own opinions as you can see from this post so give it a try and form your own. :)

I'm surprised by how many people didn't like the food, too. I tried it for dinner for the first time in '04 (I'd done breakfast there a couple times), and liked it so well, it's now a must do for me.

It is EXCELLENT! Hands down the best dinner at WDW

The food is great, they bring it out fast, and the characters are very interactive.

I don't know why other people are saying how bad it is

We go every year (check my sig for all the times I have gone, then add 9 for when I was not born), and have never had a bad meal. You can always find something to eat

In all my visits to WDW, I've never been to Chef Mickey's :guilty: but planned to go next April. Since I'm a fussy eater, I think I'll book breakfast - if I like it then we can always go back for dinner some other time. ;)

We have always had a great experience at Chef Mickey's. I will agree that the food could be better. It is okay, nothing great. But the atmosphere can't be beat. We always make ADR's for Chef Mickey's every trip.
