Hey
I have been enjoying reading all of the great information on the boards. I am posting questions for all of you experts.

I am planning a trip to WDW June 13-19 for a family of 9. The family includes grandmother, aunt, two couples and three kids- ages 16, 13, and 9. It will be a first trip for 1/2 of the group.

I am wanting to do a character meal. My daughters and I have been to WDW but we have always traveled with groups and character dining was not on the plan.
I have made two reservations for Chef Mickey's (planning to cancel one of them).
I have made a 7:15 am on Monday, June 14 and a 7:20 pm also on the 14h. Which is better for Chef Mickey's- breakfast or dinner.
Since I have become the planner for the family, I want this trip to be GREAT.
Another note-we are staying off-property in an All Star Vacation Home (much less expensive than staying on property in three rooms).

Another question- if we have an early ADR for Chef Mickey's, can we park at the TTC and ride the monorail that early in the am?

Thanks in advanced for all your help!!!

As far as I know, breakfast is better than dinner there. But I would advise checking out the menus at allears to look at your personal preference. As for the TTC, I think it depends on when the parks are opening. So check park hours.

Have a magical vacation!

Since you will have a reservation at Chef Mickey's, you should be able to park at the Contemporary. Just show them your reservation at the Magic Kingdom toll booth and then you can drive to the hotel and park. You may have to show your reservation at the Contemporary guard gate as well. Enjoy!

I know that we can park at the Contemporary in the morning, but I have read on the boards that there is a 3 hour limit ( and you may be towed :headache:) I was thinking of parking at the TTC and then ride the monorail to the breakfast. Then, we could go on the the Magic Kingdom.

Thanks for all the advice. You guys are great!:cool1:

We have been to both, breakfast is awesome but dinner is terrible

We've only had breakfast here which was scrumptious. I've heard not such great things about the dinner buffet though. So much so, that we won't even bother trying it. I say go with breakfast!:thumbsup2

We've never been to breakfast at Chef Mickey's but were there for dinner last week and I must say it was the only meal during our trip that I was really disappointed with. Poor selection and the food was just plain bad.

I would pick breakfast. I've only ate dinner there and I really didn't care for the food.

Thanks. I think I will keep the breakfast ADR and cancel the dinner.

Now, I need help with my 2nd question... For those of you staying off-property, how did you handle the transportation to Chef Mickey's? I know I can park in the Contemporary Lot for 3 hours, but we would then have to move our cars to the TTC if we wanted to stay at the Magic Kingdom for the day. Can we take the monorail at 7:00 in the morning? The Magic Kingdom does not have EMH on that day.

Thank you thank you for all your great advice. You guys have really helped me. :cool1:

I think breakfast is pretty much a no brainer. It's more consitently liked and is cheaper besides.
I'd park at TTC and monorail over.

we had dinner and it was not good. My son loved the characters at CM and wants to go back so we are trying it again for breakfast. I would keep breakfast

We haven't enjoyed CM's food for breakfast or dinner for a couple years now, but I'd give the edge to breakfast because typical breakfast foods are harder to screw up. Fun atmosphere for either meal though!

Breakfast is much better! Dinner is lame especially compared to buffets at other restaurants. Doesn't seem to be as much variety of food & definitely less desserts.

We have only been for dinner and probably 5+ times. But last year was so bad that I don't want to go back...but this is the only restaurant that DS wants to go back too:headache:
So, even though I'm not much of a breakfast person, we will be going there for breakfast.

I would agree with the others that breakfast would be a good choice. I am pretty sure you can park at TTC and ride the monorail over to the resort. I don't know if you are set on the characters at Chef Mickey's or just looking for a character breakfast but, you might consider the character breakfast at Crystal Palace. It is located inside the MK and they have the Pooh and friends characters. The breakfast is yummy!!
