Which is better? I have both booked for the same day and need to drop one. I've done Chef Mickey's way back in 2003 for dinner and liked it, so maybe I have low standards since everyone complains about it! :eeyore:

And I guess i should mention that this day is a flex day and we don't need to be anywhere until 745 that night for a Pirate Fireworks cruise! :sail:

Cape May is our favorite breakfast on property and is a must do for us every trip. We do like Chef Mickeys, but my choice would be Cape May.

I would pick based on which characters you want to see and what you else you want to do on your flex day. Do you want to tour the holiday decor of the Boardwalk area resorts? They are worth seeing, for sure. You can view the CR decor when you return for your cruise.

Here is my opinion about the breakfasts: Cape May is the bottom two of character breakfasts for my family. We love BC and often stay there but Cape May has fewer food options than most and I find the dining room itself borderline unpleasant (typical hotel decor - could be anywhere - and I hate the buffet set up). I haven't had brunch at Chef Mickeys yet, although I have seen photos and reviews and it looks like it is mostly still breakfast foods plus better desserts (a good thing, IMO!). My kids would pick Chef Mickey's breakfast every time. We love the classic 5 characters and watching the monorail go by. The Contemporary is just so classic.

But all that said, I would still choose either based on convenience and characters. :)

You're so right. I don't really love how the Cape May Cafe looks in photos. I mean its like a hotel restaurant that happens to have Disney characters running around, right? OK Im convinced :) Chef Mickey's! It's also more appealing because I think it's a harder reservation to get LOL :yay:

Our Chef Mickey's brunch last week was one of the worst meals we have ever had. Every single hot item was cold and all the cold items were warm. The whole place was a general mess and the character interaction was also some of the worst. It has made it to our "never again" list.

While we don't love Cape May, everything about it is better than Chef Mickey's. Tusker House is by far our favorite breakfast buffet with characters. The Wave is our favorite breakfast and buffet.

Our kids love Chef Mickeys- but the adults (kids too) like Cape May better.

We were trying to decide between CM brunch and Park Faire breakfast for our upcoming trip. I left it up to DD26 and she chose PF. The only disappointment for me is I'm not a big breakfast fan, so the lunch choices at CM appeal to me more. That being said, we have eaten at PF many times in the past and the food seems consistently fresher/tastier than CM, so I'm still looking forward to it. I'm sure you'll enjoy whichever you choose.

I would have to say go with Cape May. IMHO, Chef Mickey is one of the worst restaurants in WDW when it comes to service and quality of food. With that said I personally rate Cape May as average (not bad for a buffet) and would rate it higher if they had a fresh omelet station since I am just not a big fan of pre-made scrambled eggs. Chef Mickey character interaction is not bad, but Cape May is one of the most non rushed character interactions I have experienced... A big plus. :goodvibes
