Currently have an ADR for dinner at Chef Mickey's - primarily want to eat there so I can watch the monorail go by as I eat. Recently heard some negative comments about dinner - is breakfast a better option? No picky eaters in my group - for buffets we enjoy Boma, Crystal Palace and Cape May should I stick to those? Can't decide what to do.

If there was no monorail would you be going more for the characters or the food? I prefer my chaos during breakfast time b/c I'm too tired for a crazy & loud dinner after being in the parks all day and the smiles aren't as cheery for Character pictures as everyone is exhausted. Just a thought - I'm also pretty sure you can see the monorail from the Kona Sushi bar, but it may not be the same "view" you were looking for?

I will tell you what I tell others who go off all the negatives on here. Go and make your own judgment! It is personal opinions and there is way more negative comments on here than positive. With that being said... keep in mind it is a buffet and buffet food is prepared to serve many people so it is not going to be as good as ordering from a menu. Chef Mickeys is one of our favorite places to go for dinner and is a must-do for us every year! We like the food for buffet food and we love the fab 5 characters and the atmosphere. It is crazy in there no matter breakfast or dinner. Some people don't like the food there and that is ok, not everyone will like the same things. I don't like some of the places people rave over. I say make your choice depending on when you want to be in the parks. You can have breakfast before the parks open but you can also have a late dinner. I would choose dinner but breakfast is good too.

i tend to like buffets better at breakfast
i think the food is better than buffet dinner food

We had dinner at CM and it was fine. The food was hot and fresh. I was scared to try it because of the negative comments, but I'm glad we tried it because we had a good time.

We love CM....yes, it's a buffet, yes, it's noisy....but that's what great about it....and I love watching the monorail pass over while we eat. I love the character interaction.

We haven't been there yet. We are going our first evening and not doing a park. Want to start with a monorail dinner.

We did dinner once, it was so gross...DH was very leery when I told him we were going to try breakfast but it was awesome! I would do breakfast there everytime!

Been to BK & Dinner here to many times to count. Love them both. Given a choice bk or dinner I'd go with dinner.:thumbsup2

Been to both CM's for bfast and dinner, and I'm not a big fan of bfast foods so I liked dinner more. Love CM's!

CM was a have to for years and then two years ago had to mark it off the lsit for dinner as was horrid. last October cousin took her 4 yeard old with us and we tried breakfast at CM and food was cold and we spent most our time waiting for food to be brought out and then was undercooked. characters never did come to our table. so we won't be back anytime soon. :scared1: us....we have since been going to Cape May and breakfast there has been great as well as dinner. we also tried Tusker House with Donald breakfast and was good as well as Hollywood & Vine has characters. Boma has great breakfast and dinner buffetts bit no characters.:cool1:

We love CM for breakfast - we do it on every trip. We've never tried dinner there - we've found that we don't like dinner buffets at WDW so we try to avoid them.

We did the breakfast and thought it was pretty good. I admit, I read the reviews and that played a role in my decision. Also, it was our first full day and we thought it was a fun way to start the day since we were going to the MK next. It's a little hectic and noisy in there, so I agree with another poster about wanting to have a more low key dinner elsewhere.

Basic mass-produced breakfast foods are less likely to get screwed up than mass-produced dinner foods, IMO. If you can truly fit either into your schedule, I would choose breakfast.

I heard that rumor, that he'd be greeting out in the lobby before you walk in...but then I heard that that was just a test Disney was trying and it was ill-received, so they went back to the original plan of the character(s) walking around. Can anyone confirm?

Also, just as an fyi, you cannot see the monorail from every table. I was in a back room in the corner and we never saw, nor heard, the monorail. The character interaction was good, the food was so...so...but my children loved it and I guess that's what's important.;)

In January we went to both Breakfast and Dinner. The food was not the greatest at either meal. We will not go to dinner again but we will go to Breakfast on our next trip just to see the fab five. :lovestruc
