We have reservations for 7pm at Chef Mickeys one night or possibly 6:15 at 1900 Park Fare. Will I be able to go from their to the fireworks Wishes show at the Castle in time or is this too rushed. I have searched, downloaded apps, just not sure if the timing of this would work? I will be with my wife and two young kids. Thanks for any help.

As my daughter said this morning, we are going in 15 sleeps!!

I know this is a horrible answer, but it really depends on your family. You can certainly get to MK in time. You can walk from CR to MK, and 2 hours is plenty of time if you want to eat, interact with characters, and then either take the Monorail to MK or walk. There is a dedicated path from CR to MK and it takes maybe 7-10 minutes. I would say average time at Chef Mickey's is 75-90 minutes for us, but it will vary certainly from family to family. You might finish even faster. But I really think it can be done! Have a Magical Trip!

Little tip for ya... if you run late at Chef Mickey's, there is a balcony all the way down past the shops, walk outside and you can watch the fireworks from there!

What time is Wishes? If it is 9 PM, then both would probably work OK, though Chef Mickey's would be cutting it close. I would recommend it on the 1900 PF night to prevent rushing.

Well the good thing is the 4th floor observation deck is located on the other side past the Fantasia Market store, so you don't need to go far. However it all depends on what time Wishes will be that night and since Chef Mickey's is very popular a lot of times they can fall behind on their ADR's for that night and you might be seated way past what your scheduled time was.

We only spent a little over an hour at both and we didn't feel rushed. That being said I would opt for Park Fare. CM food was barely "ok" though the characters were great! We went to Park Fare for Breakfast and it was fantastic; the food and the characters! Based on Breakfast I'd take a chance on supper because you will not miss the food at CM. Not terrible but definately the worst of our entire trip and we wouldn't go back for supper:)

Thanks for all the help. It looks like the wishes is at 8 pm so it looks like it will be a little tight. Lots to figure out.

Thanks again for all the help.

It actually has Wishes listed at 10 and Spectromagic at 9pm. Do you think we will have time for Dinner at 7pm at Chef Mickeys and how would I get from Magic Kingdom to Chef Mickeys with 4 adults and 2 kids (4 and 2)? 2 more sleeps, my kids are jacked.

Thanks a lot, this place has been amazing for a rookie.

You have two choices from Chef Mickey's:

(1) Ride the resort monorail around the lake with stops at the TTC, the Poly, and the GF before stopping back at MK. This will take between 15 and 25 minutes, depending on how long you have to wait for the monorail, the crowds at the various stops...etc.

(2) There is a walking path from the contemporary back to MK. It takes about 10-15 minutes to walk it, assuming you have strollers for the little ones.

Truthfully, the best choice depends really on your party. Some may prefer the ride, while others wouldn't mind a walk after a large meal. Last trip we ate twice at the Contemporary, and in both cases we needed to take the bus back to our hotel. In this case, it is certainly better to walk, since the bus stops are mid-way between the Contemporary and MK, so taking the monorail would STILL require a 5 minute walk to the bus stops.

Enjoy!

When going from the Contemporary to the Magic Kingdom I personally think walking will be a lot faster, because of the three stops before the Resort Monorail arrives at the Magic Kingdom.

People have also talked about watching them from the beach at the Polynesian - if you're crunched for time, you could take the monorail to Poly, and watch it there. But if you get a chance and haven't seen Spectro yet, I would try to go see that one nt. - we love it! It would work better w/1900 PF time, as PP mentioned, and if your DD likes Cinderella, it is a great dinner - the step-family is all in character, very funny. And if you go, your DD will have a chance to dance w/Cindy & Prince - when you check in, ask to sit in the main room where they have dancing, and when they come out, send your daughter out to the middle- our DD6 got to dance w/ Cindy and was twirled by the Prince - priceless!

On our last trip, we had 7:50 ressies for Chef Mickey's. This was July 4th, so the fireworks were an hour early - at 9:00. We weren't able to get back into the Magic Kingdom in time, but we saw the fireworks from the balcony at the Contemporary. So, since your dinner is 50 minutes earlier and your fireworks are an hour later, I imagine you'll have plenty of time to catch the show, using the strategies the other posters described.

Enjoy!
