We will be getting a bite to eat when we arrive on Friday, Dec 3rd. I would like an enjoyable first meal, but we aren't going to use our Hopper pass until Saturday.

I was thinking either Chef Mickey or Beaches & Cream. Wondering about crowds around 7pm for either place.

Where would you go?

And if we go to Chef Mickeys, can you see the fireworks from there?

Thanks all!!!!!

If you go to chef Mickey's you can get a PS. It's also a fun place to start your trip. Beaches and Cream does not take PS's and at 7 will be very crowded from what I hear.
You can not see the fireworks from Chef Mickey's . You can from Calif. grill.

I think Chef Mickey's would be a great place to dine for either a great beginning or ending to a trip. It's so "Disney"!

We ate here as our last PS for breakfast the day we checked out and my girls talked about the fun they had at Chef Mickey's all the way home.

Can't see the fireworks but after your meal, hop on the monorail and take the round-trip ride around to the Poly, GF and back to Contemporary. That was alot of fun. Don't forget you can ask to sit up front with the driver if no one else has asked. It's really cool up there!

Dinner at Chef Mickey's is our family tradition for the night we arrive at WDW. It really puts the kids in the spirit and they get to see Mickey.

As another poster mentioned - you can get a ps for Chef Mickey's but it will be crowded - although I think CM's is more fun with a crowd - it adds to the high energy ambience!

We also take the monorail but we go for the Epcot track - Epcot is so pretty at night! If you take the monorail close to 9pm you may catch some of Illuminations.

I would say Chef Mickey's. It's a nicer restaurant overall, so it would be a bit more relaxing. After dinner you could check out the shops in the Contemporary or play games in the arcade, maybe catch some fireworks or the electric water parade depending upon the timing and best of all... you could take a spin on the monorail! Now, that's a cool way to start a WDW, imo.
