We arrived at 9:20am for Chef Mickey and found a huge line. Most of the people on line had ADRs as well, and once we were checked in we experienced a wait too.

The service at this restaurant was the worst of any in WDW, which doesn't really stand out for great restaurant service anyway. We waited 10 minutes before the waitress came over to take our drink orders so we could get up and start getting food. She started by apologizing and complaining several times during the morning that they had given her 30 tables and she was unhappy at how Disney had arranged this. We also waited a long time to catch her so we could pay our bill.

This is also a loud restaurant. We were the only couple in our area of the restaurant without kids (though we are kids at heart!). We sort of felt like we were dining with a child anyway, as the little girl next to us was literally sitting at our table about 1/2 the time trying to see characters at the other side of the room. We had a good chuckle about this with her parents from New York and had a nice chat with them (the tables at Chef Mickey are close together).

One of the main benefits at Chef Mickey are the characters: Goofy, Donald, Mickey, Minnie & Pluto (the fab 5) ...and they were all dressed up in very cute chef outfits.

Chef Mickey also has a fantastic VEGGIE PIZZA and my husband really enjoyed the BANANA-STRAWBERRY TOPPING for the waffles. As far as other food distinctions, they had more dessert items than we found at other Disney breakfast buffet places.

We also enjoyed visiting the Contemporary Hotel, seeing the new expansion construction and riding the monorail around the loop (they give you a parking pass that states that is good for 3 hours at the Contemporary Hotel).

Despite it's good reviews on the DISboards and some positive aspects, we decided that we would not be going back to Chef Mickey anytime soon, as we much preferred Cape May Cafe and Crystal Palace instead.
