Just wondering if anyone noticed if a cheese grater is part of the kitchen accessories?

I want to grate carrots to make cole slaw and if there isn't one, I'll need to bring my mini travel grater!

Thanks to anyone who has noticed!

I can't recall seeing one, and it's not on the list of items in the kitchens;

•Refrigerator
•Electric stove/oven
•Microwave oven
•Sink with disposal
•Coffee maker and starter pack
•Toaster
•Electric blender
•Dishware, glasses, coffee cups and flatware service for eight (service for 12 in three-bedroom Vacation Homes)
•Serving platter, vegetable bowls, salad serving bowl, sugar bowl, pitcher and cream server
•Eight-piece cookware set (pots, pans and lids)
•Casserole dishes, measuring cups and spoons, colander, cutting board and cookie sheet
•Paring knife, cook's knife, tongs, serving spoon, serving fork, can opener, bottle opener and corkscrew
•Teakettle
•Dish towel
•Sponge
•Potholders

And they own a mini travel grater?

If it saves money to go to WDW more often, why not? Or if you have medical condition that makes eating out difficult, why not? Or just because you like your (or Grandma's) cole slaw better than anything you can buy out, why not?

We're going to be doing a 10 night family thing next summer with 10 people including some vegetarians. We'll be doing a lot of cooking in our kitchen. Cheese grater is a great idea. We are planning on driving down, so other things we plan to bring are large cookie sheets (the ones the provide are small), the pan we use for making pancakes and omlets, spatula, port glasses (after a trip to Porto, everybody in our family loves port, especially 20 year old), maybe a big pot for boiling large quantities of pasta, etc. We'll also bring extra plates, cups, etc. since we'll have one 2BR and two studios.

Thanks for the suggestion!

It sounds like a nice family gathering. Have a great trip!

Driving down, bring your crock pot if you you have one. We have family reunions with 10-12 and I bring mine, helps feed the masses when you come back dead from the parks! I do spaghetti/meatballs, shredded beef for tacos/burritos/taco salads etc., sloppy joes.

Don't forget foil, zip lock bags and coffee filters!

What goes better with Hot Dogs and Baked Beans? Just chop the cabbage, grate the carrots and mix with a little mayo, cider vinegar, splenda, salt & pepper. Voila! It's ready in 10 minutes, easiest side dish I know how to make.;)

We're also making tacos, meatloaf and grilled chicken!

In addition to the travel grater, I have a whole computer sized suitcase packed with in room cooking supplies if I stay in a standard hotel room!

Thanks for the suggestions! You left off coffee...my drug of choice. :hippie: We stay in studios often and the first thing I pack are my filters and a big zip lock bag of coffee together with my coffee scoop.

They had a cheese grater at SSR this month. It was in the large utensil drawer. It was a flat one.

:lmao: I don't even grate my own carrots when I'm at HOME! :rotfl2: That's what the Dole slaw mix in the bagged salad section is for! :rotfl:

Seriously? You would go out & buy all that stuff to make coleslaw on vacation? I make a lot of pulled BBQ pork (in the crock pot) for sandwiches & I gotta have slaw on top but I swear by just buying a jar of the Marzetti's Original Slaw dressing for it.:rolleyes1

There's only two of us, so 1/4 head of cabbage, half a carrot, a few dollops of mayo, etc. I will bring the cider vinegar in a small resealable bottle. In FL we'll double that since there are 4 of us. Grating half a carrot into the bowl is an easy one.

My spouse and I are diabetic and not that we follow a no sugar diet really strictly, but I developed this recipe back when we were doing Atkins (not any more), but I learned it was so simple to do I make it all the time. I don't like "bagged salads", it's probably just me, but I can taste the preservatives or whatever they put in there.

My mother is even a step beyond me, she doesn't want to buy vegetables at Publix. I found out on another forum where there are produce stands out past the AKV and we'll go there before we hit the grocery store because she only buys veggies at the Farmer's Market! Must be a hippie California thing!:hippie:
