At as many races as I can for as long as I can....I try to shout out a

'THANKYOU' to the volunteers...so grateful for their time and effort during any race. Those by the water stations, those cheering us on..the entertainers...those who organize us at the start and finish and direct us down the correct roads. All of them.

I start out with the 'whoo hoo' thankyou...but as time and miles go on, my 'whoo hoos' kind of fade and it becomes a 'thankyou' but I would love to keep the cheerful 'whoo hoo's' going...

Anyway...if any of you are volunteers out there.. THANKYOU!

I second this. In many ways the volunteer gig is tougher than running the race. They are up and out early; some before most runners wake. They have the tables set up, water poured, energy up and if cold, stand in the dark freezing while they wait for runners to arrive. Unfortunately, some runners treat these folks poorly.

Say thanks as you pass and let them know they are doing a great job.

Well, I'm volunteering for the first time instead of running. So thank you!

I'll be at the Half - runner direction at the finish.
And for the Full - water stop 12.9. I think this is the one just as you exit AK.

I'm so excited to do this!!!

Goofygirl...you'll be Wohooing the entire way this year! I agree, a pre-thank you to all the volunteers. They certainly do make the race what it is. Without them, I know I would be in deep trouble. Thank you volunteers. I'll be giving you a shout out too along the course!

I try to thank volunteers as well but definitely as the race goes on I conserve energy and may not get the words out. But I am thankful none the less.

A couple of years ago, or maybe just last year, there was this volunteer directing runners at around 4:30 am just at the point where the runners dropped off by the busses merged with runners coming from the monorail. He was so awake and chipper and was telling these hilarious jokes... So funny! I could not believe his energy. Wish I caught some of that on video.

My wife and I are volunteers at the 10K Friday morning - shift is 3 AM until 11:30 AM. Have to leave our house in Rockledge at 1 AM to be there on time... We were planning on running that race but missed the registration, so this is the next best thing. We will be cheering you all on, whatever we're doing that morning!!

Thanks in advance to all you dedicated volunteers! I look forward to thanking you in person, assuming I'm still upright.
