Hey everyone,
I have no food pictures of this trip to share because it was just DD17 and me - AND HER entire cheer squad along with other parents and kids. I felt a little silly taking pictures with the other's being there and DD was really acting like my taking too many pictures was emberrasing her. So I was good mom and didn't snap pics of food. Course I am mad that I didn't when I was at MK by myself.
If I can just find some pictures of DD and me I may post some, I want to make sure I don't post any of the group of girls.
They were there for a cheer competition and got 2nd place out of 11 in their High School Varsity Medium Squad division.
Friday March 20, 2009
We took a 10am flight out of Philadelphia and arrived a little after noon. We took a Disney Magic Express bus to the All Star Sports. Everyone was starved, but the girls practiced first at the tennis area, and then they had to have pictures done in the X & O football area. Finally we ate - I was so hungry I wanted to eat everything in site. I don't think we ate till close to 5pm, and we were definately starving.
Lunch:
All Star Sports:
Bought a refillable Mug and a grilled chicken ceasar salad.
OMG this was such a good salad. It was huge too. There was a lot of croutons, but since I was hungry it was ok. Almost every bite had chicken and croutons. I definately recommend this - it was that good.
I got iced tea the entire time I was at Sports with my refillable mug. The first meal the Peak Unsweetened black tea was good. The rest of the trip it was off and tasted sweet ?? I resorted to fresh brewed tea after that with 2 lemons and it was good. I drank that the rest of the trip.
We went to MK after we ate dinner. Since I know Disney so well, it really helped. Most of the girls and parents split up. My daughter and her best friend split up - luckily for her best friend my daughter knows how to ride a lot at Disney too. When DD and I discussed, they had rode many big rides several times - she did good on her first solo around MK.
My group was my roommate and her daughter and the two coaches and of course me
We did Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Carribean, Mickey's Philharmagic, Snow White, Buzz Light year, and Laugh Floor. Might have been more, but those are the ones I remember.
No one wanted to stop to eat - even though Columbia Harbour House was really smelling good. Everyone was too busy to eat. So we didn't eat till we got back to our hotel at 11pm. By the time I got back to the room to eat, it was around 12am.
Someone had given me a bite of their mickey white covered chocolate pretzels. OMG so good. Of course at the Main Street confectionary shop I had to stop and get a bag. They were gone by the next day, lol.
Dinner:
All Star Sports:
Ceasar Salad again - Again supper yummy. This would be the last time I ate it this trip though. Since I ate it so late, I woke up tasting the garlic and it made me feel a little icky (not sicky - just garlicky).

Breakfast
All Star Sports
Banana - a little ripe and bruised. Ate this on the way to the Wide World of Sports to see DD perform.
Lunch:
All Star Sports:
Double cheeseburger with bacon -with wheat bun (didn't come with wheat- but I swtiched it). I got barbeque sauce to add to it.
The wheat bun was ok - The hamburger was ok, it might have been the barbeque sauce which was pretty sweet. Don't think I would get this here again. Just so so. French fries with ketchup were ok.
We went to watch 4 of our girls compete with their All Star Cheerleading Squad in the afternoon. We were going to go to Epcot, but the first bust that came to the Wide World of Sports when we were leaving was DHS, so we hopped on that. We rode Tower of Terror & Rock & Roll Roller Coaster and then headed to Epcot. We almost ran to get a bus, but then decided to take the boat over to the Beach Club and walk to Epcot's back entrance. Most everyone split up. I stayed with the one coach, and four of the girls (one of them was DD). DD and I went to Morroco and grabbed two Lamb Wraps, 2 iced teas and two backlava's and headed to America to eat with the others.
Dinner:
Tangierine Cafe
Iced Tea, Lamb Wraps (with couscous salad and lentil salad), and Backlava
DD said her sandwich was so yummy. Mine wasn't as good as in the past, but not bad. My lamb had a couple of grizzly boney type things in it, so perhaps that is what threw me off. Not bad though - just not as good as before. Will not stop me from eating here though. The couscous and lentil salad were both good. DD gave me her lentil salad.
The Backlava was just as heavenly as we both remembered. I do love good backlava!
We hopped the monorail over to MK for some more fun. We got back to the hotel at around 1am - yikes!
Sunday March 22, 2009
I was the only one in my group who upgraded their ticket to a 4 day. This was my morning to myself. I needed it after hanging around with a group. I headed over to MK and rode SM (got a FP), buzz lightyear, BTMR, POTC, saw the new parade on MS. I also got a cinnamon role and coffee at Main St Bakery (spilled some coffee on my white capris- it was so windy). Too windy that I really didn't enjoy it like I normally would.
Breakfast:
Main Street Bakery
Cinnamon Roll and coffee - The Icing seems more carmely than I remember. Was so ooey and gooey and good - yummo. Coffee was just ok.
Went back to ride Space Mtn and it was down. I ran back over to ride BTMR and then went to lunch at 11am at the Plaza Restaurant.
Lunch:
Plaza Restaurant
Vegetable Sandwich and chips
Iced Tea
The ice tea was lovely as usual. My cup was always filled.
The Vegetable Sandwich was ok. This is one of my favorite things at the Plaza, and it tasted like it had been sitting made for a while. The bread was soggy from the pesto like they made it earlier. The cucumbers were also very limp and soggy- like they were past their prime.
The chips were good - but I miss the sweet potato chips. The sweet potato chips were always my favorite. They are sadly missed.
Lunch with tip was around $16. I couldn't have eaten at a counter service for much less.
At noon I ran back to the hotel. I took the first All Star bus that came (Music) and just walked back to our hotel- we were right on the edge near the parking lot that is in the middle of the two hotels. I changed and went over to the Wide World of Sports to watch the girls compete. What a long afternoon. The awards was at 6:30pm, so after they competed we had nothing to do but wait.
Afterwards we went back to the hotel and changed into warmer clothes ( a cold front had moved in) and then got private motor coaches to DHS. DHS closed at 9pm and it was open to us as a private party from 9pm-12am.
We rode TOT once and R&RRC twice. DD and I headed back to the hotel to eat because I had not eaten since 11am and would have hurt someone if I had not eaten till the next day. The food court closed at 12am, so it was 11:10 already.
Dinner:
All Star Sports
I got the breaded chicken, bread stick and penne pasta. It came with a salad - but it was all wilted so I told them to keep it. The chicken was a little dry, but good. The pasta and sauce was excellent. The breadstick was so tasy. I ate it before I even paid for the food, while I was in line - LOL
DD got the adult chicken nuggets and french fries. She loves these. I tried one too and it was really good.
We also split a chilli cheese fries. These were gooey and prettty good. I was starved.
Monday March 23, 2009
My roommate, her daughter, my daughter, one of the couches and 2 other girls got up and did the EMH at AK. It was lightly raining when we got up and this kept the crowds away in the morning. It was a little chilly too, but not too bad.
It was lightly raining when we got there so we shopped in Rainforest Cafe for bit before the park opened. We were getting wet, so this was much better. The girls enjoyed the picture opportunities in there. A nice gentleman at RC let us in, even though it technically wasn't open yet.
We got FP's for EE and rode it twice (saving our FP's for later). We rode Dinosaur, and planned on riding Primeval Whirl and Triceratop Spin, but the girls were having fun in the gift shop trying on hats instead. They took tons of pictures and DD and I got a turtle and split it.
Snack:
Chester & Hester Dinosaur Treasures
Turtle - OMG this was great since I was starving. DD and I split it. It was so ooey gooey -yummo!
We then went and got in line to watch Nemo. Afterwards we met up with two other cheerleaders. The adults all gave the girls (some already had their own) our FP's for EE and we went and got FP's for everone to Kilamajaro safari. Then we headed to lunch. DD had been saying all weekend that when we went to AK she WAS going to eat at Pizzafari. This is a family favorite of ours - so I was excited. So off we went.
Lunch
Pizzafari
For DD and I:
2 Hot Italian Sandwiches with chips
2 iced teas
2 side ceasar salads (at the window we asked for 2 sides of croutons) and I got an extra cup of ice for my tea.
This meal did not dissapoint. My best meal of the trip hands down. The worker brought me and DD a shaker of parmesean. They used to have packets of parmesean, but now its a shaker. This guy was funny and he was teasing me because I was so excited about the paper straws. They didn't have them when we went in July 07. He said they got them in October 07. DD hated the straws, but I love anything that is better for the environment.
Our sandwiches were perfect. Chips eh, bag of Lays -what can I say. They used to have great kettle chips (those were the days).
The ceasar was excellent, I'd rather them offer that instead of chips - but they always try to talk me out of the side ceasar because there is a little ceasar on the sandwich. Not enough to call it a salad, lol.
Then we rode the Safari, Pangani Forest Exploration Trail and It's a Bugs Life.
We headed to DHS and rode Little Mermaid and The Great Movie Ride.
Then headed for EPCOT where the coach and I road Sorin (Yep over 90 minute wait - lol). Several girls went back to the hotel to get something, my DD and her best friend rode Test Track and Mission Space. My roommate and her daughter went to MK.
After we met up with my DD and her best friend and the two that went to hotel we rode the Nemo ride at Living Seas.
Then we hopped a monorail over to MK (yep - we just did all 4 in one day- yowza). MK was closing early so by the time we got there and the coach bought something for her DD who is in College (it was being engraved so we had to come back). We ran over to Fantasyland and met the other coach at the Teacups along with some of the other girls. We all rode The Pooh Ride, Peter Pan and then we split up in two groups. One group (my group) rode It's a small world and the other group rode (DD's group) Snow White.
When we got done, the WISHES was starting so we ran to MS to get the one coaches gift and then it ended right as we got there. After we got that we headed with the herds back to the AS Sports.
Dinner:
All Star Sports
I'm somewhat confused here. I need to talk to DD. Now I'm thinking this may have been the night I had the chicken and Penne. But then what in the world did I have the night I thought I had chicken Penne. Hmmm
I'll update tonight after talking to DD.
Monday March 24, 2009
Our Magical Express bus was leaving at 1:00pm (It didn't actually arrive till after 2pm). After I got our bags down to the check-in, DD and I went to have lunch.
Lunch:
All Star Sports
DD17- Penne Alfredo with Chicken and garlic bread
Me- Taco Salad with extra sour cream
I debated getting the Penne Alfredo again and after tasting DD's I should have. The chicken was just cooked since lunch had just started. It was so good. My taco salad was good - but wasn't as good as the Penne Alfredo.
