++Cheerleaders! Blisters! Oversized Water Bottles! ...It Must Be Disney++ Feb 2011 TR

I'm in! :D sounds pretty exciting so far. Right before a trip, or the arrival day, I am basically jumping off the walls.

Awesome!

I would do just that (jumping off the walls) but if I did, there would be no house left :)

I'm following. :)

Never been to WDW but I'm off to Disneyland soon with my friends for graduation. I'm excited to go without the parental units. xD

I have to say "Lucky!" because I've never been to Disneyland and I really want to go someday. I'm all WDW. It is very different without family. You just see a whole other perspective. My friends weren't big fans of some rides that I really enjoy. I won't be specific until later, but... it was quite shocking. It didn't make sense to me, but I'm just a DisFreak so whatever.

Sounds like you had a great start! It's awesome you went with your school :D I love the way you write too! Cant wait to hear more popcorn::

I hope you get to go, it's really something to set foot in Walt's park. :)

I'm excited because I'm usually stuck with my six year old sister, and now I just have my friends to worry about. xD

They weren't? I'm assuming it was a few dark rides. Naw, my friends are Disney freaks too. Movies, merchandise, and parks, the whole lot of them. I couldn't imagine going to a Disney park and skipping any rides, really, unless it's something your stomach can't handle. Even old Mr. Toad's ride is worth going on.

DisFreaks forever. :U

I'm sorry I haven't updated. School is getting crazy this week, now that I have rehearsals for the school play until five every day. It is hard getting all the homework in. I'll update this weekend.

Yeah, it was definitely a great start, but it gets better. And... thanks! :)

I wish my friends were able to see the magic in rides, even POPULAR ones, at Disney, that don't just go down drops and stuff. Even my sister, who isn't a Disney girl, enjoyed the dark rides. Definitely need a mixture of family and friends :)

CHAPTER 2: THE MAGIC OF CHARGERS, PLANS AND MY NEMESIS: KARMA (Part 1)

The last time I was here, it took my family forever to find where the Magical Express area was. We searched forever throughout the airport and luckily, someone directed us and we found it. This time, it seemed so easy to get to and I'm shocked it took my family so long to find it. There wasn't anyone in the line to get onto one of the Magical Expresses to All Star Music, but of course, I was amongst a group of 100 kids and over 10 adults, so yeah, the line got very long. And I of course was, guess where, at the back.

The wait was forever. I think this may have been the longest wait for me in all of Disney, especially since it hindered me from actually GETTING to the happiest place on Earth. Luckily, we had the magical phone charger. Yes, magical phone charger. One of the chaperones had in her carry-on a phone charger and everytime she plugged it in the line would move. It was amazing! Every time she did this, the line MOVED!

During the time we waited, my friend, Rishi came up to me to talk about where we should go. Now as I said above, the original plans were to go to Magic Kingdom until the time came that we had to leave and go to EPCOT. I had told all my friends that I planned to travel with ahead of time. This group seemed to expand, since my amazing planning skills got out (if I do say so myself). Of course, everyone began talking about going to Animal Kingdom since we didn't have a ton of time to really do all of Magic Kingdom.

This sorta got me fired up, since I planned this trip months ago and didn't want to go off schedule (yeah I try really hard to be organized). MK was first on the list because, of course you go there first! Cinderella Castle should be the first icon you see at Disney. That was my entire reasoning, but no, everyone really wanted to go to Animal Kingdom. My best friend, Jocelyn told me, it would be better to use a full day for Magic Kingdom. So, in the end I gave in and decided on going to Animal Kingdom. The park has my favorite ride, so why not? EPCOT was still our later park, so yeah still on schedule.

A few more, chargings of phone and I was on the bus to All Star Music. After taking the Magical Express so many times, I don't think I could ever use any other type of transportation. It is just such a great start to a great vacation. Here are some pictures I took on the bus on our way to All Star Music:

Name of one of the teachers at my school. We saw a sign like this about twenty times, it was pretty funny.

So, now we've of course arrived at the resort. You're probably thinking now, it was time for the parks! Well... ... ... ... no We still had some kids on a third bus, which came like half an hour after the second bus arrived, which was right behind the first. We waited forever outside the main entrance until we finally could go to our rooms (well the place where our rooms are in vicinity), which was located in the Country Fair section of All Star Music, which, for anyone who's stayed ASM, it is the furthest back. I took some quick pictures while I waited for everyone to get there, since my friends and I were at the head of the pack:

A few groups of kids were given room keys, but of course not my group. Before that I met with my chaperone to get my park hopper ticket. One of the chaperones allowed us to put our stuff in his room for the time being, so we could go have fun at the parks. Since I wanted to spend as much time as I could at the parks, I ran to the chaperone's room, dropped some of my stuff off, grabbed my clothes, went to the pool house, got changed and went back to put my "winter" clothes away and get my "park bag" in order.

I told my friends, after I left the pool house, I would be going with them to Animal Kingdom, so I went as quick as I can, to not leave them waiting. They waited at the Piano Pool (the closest pool to us) and I went up to them. It was only my best friend Jocelyn and her roommates, Tina and Taylor, so we had to wait for the rest of the group (Trysten, Ian, Nate, Rishi and Mat (another friend of mine and yes that's how he spells his name)). When, they got there, they decided to change plans again and go to EPCOT. We were dead set on Animal Kingdom, so, of course another plan changed and I was with a quaint group of four.

We walked from the Country Fair all the way up to the main building and to the busses on the other side of the resort. There was no line for Animal Kingdom, which was awesome. We walked to the bus with our other friends going to EPCOT, hoping that our bus would be way before theirs and make them jealous, of course. And you know what, OUR BUS DID COME FIRST!

We did wait awhile and a few others lined up behind us, but it wasn't a large group. We got on the bus and ready to flaunt off the fact we were going to our park before them, but know what? THE EPCOT BUS WAS RIGHT BEHIND OUR BUS! It ruined everything, but of course you have to be sympathetic in Disney ;)

A few minutes on the bus and my group was already hungry. I usually can handle my stomach in Disney the best, since I want to spend all the time I can on attractions rather than eat, but next to attractions, the food was my favorite thing to do at Disney. We said we would find a place to eat as soon as we could.

Animal Kingdom is the closest resort to All Star Music, which was awesome, since the bus ride wasn't forever. We arrived and got off, with no crazy crowds to have to travel through. So, we got to the entrance very quickly. We went right through getting our bags checked, which ironically, was an experience in itself. It all began when I had my bag checked...

The security guard we had check our bags was short and looked kinda tiny for his suit. Jocelyn was the first to have her bag checked, then I was after her. I gave him my bag CLOSED. He gave me this completely unchanged look and opened my bag with a snappy fashion and told me "That's how you do it." I laughed since he was being sarcastic. Taylor then had her bag checked. Next was Tina. Now, one important detail to recognize was Taylor, Jocelyn and I had small bags, like the Nike ones. Tina had a full blown backpack. When she came up to the guy, he gave her look that said "Are you kidding me?" Tina and all of us laughed. He then was trying to find a way to open the bag that wasn't a zipper, but couldn't find one and turned to Tina and said "I just had my nails done." I was laughing so hard, it was hysterical. Tina, then opened all the zippers for him to look. After looking through her bag, he was "Why is there so much clothes in here?" Tina told him that we changed when we got there. He asked where we were from and told him. He recognized how cold it was up there and said, "So you just stripped, changed and went?" We all nodded and agreed then my hilarious friend, Jocelyn answered "Yep, we do that all the time." My stomach was hurting by now.

Yeah, so that was our adventure in the bag check line. We, then went up to the gates, put our passes in and entered the park. Now, out of all the parks in Disney, Animal Kingdom is the hardest for me to navigate. DHS, EPCOT and MK I know how to get through like the back of my hand, but AK is a ton harder for me. Though, I of course know how to get to my favorite attractions ;) So, I go straight towards the Tree of Life and seeing that, sadly thinking fondly of Cinderella Castle, I truly know I'm in Disney:

CHAPTER 2: THE MAGIC OF CHARGERS, PLANS AND MY NEMESIS: KARMA (Part 2)

Now, at this point, we had discussed and basically finalized the basis for our day at Animal Kingdom, which we did shockingly quickly. We would make our way over to Expedition Everest, get a fastpass, find some place to buy a snack. Then, go to Kali River Rapids, ride that to cool off and then rush back over to Expedition and see what to do from there. So, of course, this plan didn't exactly as planned.

We walked towards the Tree of Life and saw the queue for It's Tough To Be A Bug. We made a snap decision, since we had tons of time that we should do it. This ride rarely has a wait and we just walked into an empty theater "lobby". I took a picture of my friend, Jocelyn in Bug Eyes, but I'm not posting it of course. We went into the theater, watched the show, screamed a ton and all that stuff. It was definitely as great as last time, though I still hate the crazy Wind machines and the blinding fog. It still is one of my favorites.

After that show, we went straight over to Expedition Everest. I always know a way to find where my favorite ride in all of Disney is. Well... it is the tallest ride in Disney, so yeah you can see it from far away, but so on, we went right over, going straight by Kali River Rapids. Here is a picture I got of my favorite (Disney) mountain:

037.jpg

We got our fastpasses fairly quickly at Expedition, then went to buy some ice cream at the stands next to the ride. I bought my first Mickey Ice Cream here and it was awesome! Definitely getting one of those again. We, then went right back to Kali River Rapids and got in line. We got on fairly quickly. The waits were not long at Animal Kingdom at all today, though in line for the Rapids, Jocelyn had to change from sneakers to flip flops, though I warned her, my flip flops were starting to hurt me (I forgot to mention I changed into flip flops at the resort). We were passengers on the rapids with a dad and his daughter than a few others I forget about.

Now, I've been on this ride before and because you sit in pairs, usually the two, who get wet the first time, get continuously wet the entire time. As we went up the lift and into the ride, next to the geiser, Tina and Taylor went right under it. They luckily moved to not get what, but still, they would've gotten wet. So, Jocelyn and I, who were sitting together, were sure they were going to get wet. So, we continued on through the ride, past the overturned oil truck and all that stuff then got to the drop, where things took a different turn.

The rafts on Kali River Rapids take forever to move because they are always spinning and bouncing. So, we spinned about twenty times before we got to the gate of the drop. It continued to change who was backwards every time. I personally wanted to get wet, but it would be nice to see the two who totally did not want to (Tina and Taylor) end up drenched. The drop always determines that, since those who go backwards get drenched. So it kept on changing until we came to a stop on the gate and know who was backwards... Jocelyn and I. I guess karma was coming into play ;)

We went down the drop and a huge wave soaked my friend and I to the bone. It was luckily warm out and felt good. The rest of the ride was awesome as always, though it is just too quick. They need to make another drop or something. That would be great.

We got off the ride, Jocelyn and I dripping wet, Taylor and Tina completely dry. Good thing my bag was safe from the wet, because I was soaked. We walked all the way from there to Expedition, with only a few minutes left before our fastpasses were usable. We waited, though it seemed forever, then one minute before our fastpasses were "in motion" we went in and were let through. The fastpass line seemed longer than the standby, though the queue in the standby is fairly long.

We got up to the loading platform and I was already nervous. Rides were seeming a lot scarier so far this time around. I was going to sit up front before I got in line, but now, I second guessed and just sat in the middle. Jocelyn and Taylor sat next to each other then Tina and I sat behind them.

The ride was epically awesome as the last time I went on it. Of course, where they take the picture, I look like my eyes are closed because I'm screaming. My chest hurt because of those screams. We went in the standby the second time, kinda forcing Tina along since she wasn't really a fan, though she liked it. The wait seemed to be longer and Taylor got to hold the timer card. She was pretty excited actually LOL ;)

As we waited in line, I began thinking about getting souvenirs for my sisters. DYS already told me she wanted one like the one she already has and DOS didn't give me much to work with. So I texted her and she wouldn't give me a straight answer. I called her and Jocelyn, who DOS thinks of as a friend, said she would make sure it wasn't lame. It would be awhile before I actually got her the gift, but still it was good to have info on hand. That took up some of the wait time, but we had time to spare.

We began talking about stuff at school and such. Jocelyn began talking about her boyfriend, who's two years younger than her during the conversation and we joked about what she should get him for a souvenir. The last souvenir, he gave to her was a rock from a volcano. We joked about getting him a rock from Disney, which I would take anyday, but for him, it would be hilarious. We were still talking about it the last few minutes before going on the ride. I sat with Jocelyn this time.

Second time's the charm and the ride seemed even better. I still wish they would get that Yeti fixed. The track already goes plenty close near the fella and if he was swooping down to grab you, this ride would be even more epic than it already is. Disney, I hope you're reading this!

After those two rides, Jocelyn and I were pretty well dried off. Now, we were left with the problem of where to go next. Before we came here, the decision was made by Tina and Rishi since they wanted to go on Kilimanjaro Safaris. Rishi, of course, never followed through, but Tina did. I'm not jumpy for Kilimanjaro-i LOL so I tried to steer them to DINOSAUR since Kilimanjaro is just going back to the other side of the park, which I rarely traverse. So we went to DINOSAUR.

When we were passing through Chester and Hester's Dino Rama, Jocelyn and I had our group stop at a stand to look at some pins. I saw the villains pins collection here for the first time. I'm a huge villains fan, thanks to a fellow DISer on here and I really wanted some villains pins this trip, but this collection cost 25 bucks and so I thought to save it until the end of the week. I had $200 and it was for food first, souvenirs second. So, I browsed and brought my group straight to DINOSAUR. We had to sorta force Tina on, since she was nervous. I took a picture of the Dino Skeleton in the queue:

038.jpg

We went through the pre-show and the ride. I noticed right off the bat that it felt different somehow. Everything was darker, some animatronics weren't working, like the T-Rex that chases you as in running. Also some special effects weren't working either. It kinda made it scarier, since everything came out of nowhere. We got off the ride and I was so scared this time for some reason that I almost passed out, too much screaming today. Though, our picture on this ride made up for that. It was funny. My hair was blown out of my face and I looked terrified. Tina next to me, was hiding under the handle bar, Taylor had her hands over her ears and Jocelyn was leaning up against Taylor. It looked very funny.

After we got off the ride, and after we took a bathroom break and Taylor got some popcorn, I took the chance for a photo op in front of the DINOSAUR signs. I would post them, but my friends are in them and their faces are quite obvious and I don't look so great, so... yeah.

Everything was going so fast now and I didn't notice that I probably was going to be sad when this was over, but I continued along, now heading to Kilimanjaro Safaris our last ride there. Then the shenanigans that ensued... later.

CHAPTER 3: TIMMY, IS IT OVER YET? WHEN DOES IT GET BETTER? coming soon!

Loved it! I love the picture of the cowboy/cowgirl boots <3

Can't wait for the next chapter!

Yes, he was. That was our story of the day for the rest of the day. Every time we talked about it, we started laughing. :rotfl2: Its okay. I think they mostly worked for the best and my group was a lot more efficient than most and got more done.

I am really enjoying your TR so far! You are braver than me-I have never went on Kali River Rapids! I don't like the idea of being drenched. Splash Mtn wetness- I can handle.

Sounds like you all had a great time. I'm glad that you were able to this while in H.S. Can't wait to read more.

I'm loving your TR, Timmy! You're a REALLY good writer, and I love reading TRs with a lot of people in them. You're doing a fabulous job (:
