How do DLP know how old your kids are? I'm just wondering as I can't remember them asking for the kids passports or anything like that, so wondered how they would know if I said my daughter was a year younger than she actually is?  Don't think I'd ever have the gutts to do it, but am very curious

last year we had to show all our passports. this time round i only had to get a number off mine.

I would never lie about my daughters age regardless if Disney wanted to see her passport or not.

Are you talkiing about hotels, travel, park tickets or paying for meals? :confused3

I can help with the meals ~ my youngest DD is now 12 but when she was still 11 we were sometimes asked her age, especially at buffets, so they knew whether to charge the child price for her or not. I never had to show proof of her age, it was always accepted even though she was looked older than she was.

Of course it's up to you, but I would never pretend my DDs were younger than they were as not only is it teaching them to be dishonest but imagine if you were asked how old they were, you said 2 and your child said no, I'm 3!! :scared1: :rotfl:

Kyra would do that :lmao:

That happened to us 23 years ago. We got in a taxi and the driver said there were too many of us, as my nephew counted as a person, even though he was on my sisters lap. She said he was only 2 and the taxi driver started off.

"But I am 3 now, Mummy, aren't I? I've just had my birthday, haven't I? I am 3, aren't I?" We got home, but it was avery awkward journey. :rotfl:

I had to point out in Inventions this week that my daughter was a child (I noticed he gave other children in the queue a toy - I didn't want the toy, but I didn't want to pay adult price!) He looked at her and said "how old?" He didn't query it when I said 11 (which she is) so I could have been lying.

I would be too scared to lie about her age - convinced I would end up rotting in French prison if caught out. :scared1:

Thanks :thumbsup2 We've only been twice, but we've never had to show passports, only put the number on mine down on the form you fill out at check in.

I'm like that too. I asked because OH made a comment about it last night and it just got me wondering. I don't think I could do stuff like that, especially with kids. Even if the kids didn't know I was doing it (therefore not teaching them to be dishonest), I would just feel soooo guilty and I just wouldn't be able to enjoy myself. OH wouldn't think twice about it though, not sure if it's a man thing, but it's just as well I have some morals :rotfl:

Yeah I agree. I was talking about hotels, sorry I didn't make that very clear.

:lmao: That's another reason I wouldn't be able to do it, my kids would definitely say something :rotfl:

Fortunately my nephew (now aged 26) hasn't been too scarred by his experience. :rotfl: It obviously scarred me though, as it looms large in my memory.

I wouldn't lie to get a cheap meal/holiday/anything in DLRP.

I have lied consistantly to my children over the years though.

That money came from the Tooth Fairy

Look, Father Christmas has been

We're not going to Disney again until next year

There's nothing in that shopping bag that concerns you

Lovely picture. Of course I can tell what it is

Yes, I like your friend too

and on and on and on ....

:rotfl: ;)

It's not just a case of getting caught though, it's the more far reaching consequences if god forbid something awful happened and you become involved in legal or insurance claims, it wouldn't look good if you'd lied and would probably prejudice any case.
Never had a problem in restaurants at all though, DS was offered the Child Menu at Cafe Mickey and Sequoia Lodge, which we turned down as he wanted to order from the adult menu when he was 13, at LN we were charged for a child and who am I to argue. ;)

That's a good way of looking at it. Will use that in my argument against OH ;)

:confused3 You mean it's a lie :scared1:
You'll be telling me that's not the real Mickey Mouse in DLP next :rotfl:
