GD - ugh! I do not need any more storms.

But now that you're here, we can get started on the laundry.

My t-shirt is smelly - that tells me I've been leaving stuff in the washer for too long (again).

Yep. That would be an indication. I got in trouble when I was at home Tuesday. I didn't have enough left over to make full loads of each type of washing so I mixed jeans with towels. Evidently I should not have done that.

lol. my mom shoves any thing in with anything, the only thing she seperstes are colors

Hazzi, I looked up the temps in Wales and aren't you at a low of 40 F for the day?

dear lord are we really that high?? it feels ssoooo cold out there.

Are your towels all blue now?

No, the jeans were all older, so whatever dyes in 'em would have come out have already come out in the wash. I think it was more a lint in the pockets issue.

Oh, we don't worry about a little lint in my house. At least, not right now. My dining room table is covered in junk that keeps falling off. There's always something more pressing to do.

Hey Susan!
I'm waiting for the baby to wake up and pretending to clean off the DR table.
DH found out yesterday that he got his promotion! :woohoo:

My dining room table is currently free of stuff. But that's just 'cuz we went into "Mother-in-Law Clean Mode" last night. She'll be at the house tonight watching the kids, while KAMommy & I have a holiday par-tay.

Tomorrow morning I plan to start a massive LEGO project: (re)building the Death Star.

"Luke, I am your father..."

Tomorrow afternoon we ring the bell for Salvation Army. I hope the wind dies down before then.

Hola, Susan. Whaaaaaazzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzuuuuuupppppp?!

You must post a pic of the finished death star!

Have a great time tonight - I'm so jealous.

It's our office party. We have oriental brought in from PF Chang and we each have brought in our own appetizers and desserts. We are bringing a cheese ball for apps. & shortbread for dessert. I say 'we' like I had ANYTHING to do with baking last night - I was the one in "Mother-In-Law Cleaning Mode" last night.

Here's a pic of the LEGO kit.

I'll post my own photos once Adam & I finish re-building ours. It will be part of the LEGO section of my website. I have rebuilt a couple of Ferrari sets and some old biplane sets that are ready to photograph and add to my website.

Ooooohhhhhh a Lego Death Star!

Hey guys! So Fab, does a promotion mean less traveling?

I'm an unashamed LEGO geek. Have been since I was 5. I've got about 50,000 bricks right now (I've asked for a couple more sets from Santa). Here's what I want for Christmas, Santa... I've been a GOOD boy this year!

I also pulled my big Star Destroyer box from the attic when I got out the Christmas decorations. Its now in the garage, waiting for a re-build.

I'd eventually like to design & build World War 2-era battleships & aircraft carriers. I'd need about 10x the amount of bricks that I have now though.

Unfortunately, no. It might mean more (depending on the projects he'll be working on) but it won't be less until, possibly, the next promotion. When he gets the next promotion, he may do more client development versus hands-on management of projects. But the nature of his job just requires he be at the client site most of the time.

But it does mean we'll probably be able to buy a bigger house in spring of 2008. :cool1:

And my "office" won't be in the middle of a flooding basement or the DR table.

I always wondered who actually bought those things. I'd buy it and all the pieces would get lost and become choking hazards and I'd find them bit by bit and they'd soon be in every drawer, bookshelf, basket in the house but I'd never get myself to just throw them away.

I don't think Lego is my thing. :teeth:

I did some Lego figures a few years back. I did this one:

Congratulations!

We're working up billings for November today. Looks like we'll be invoicing about 20% more than we anticipated at mid-month. We hired an interior designer in early October and most of that increase is due to clients she brought in with her. Yeay! We should have a really good party tonight. I know we partners are happy today. October was a crappy month for us. We needed a good November (and still need a good December).

Yep. I'm guilty. If there's one vice I have, it is LEGOs. And it's probably the only thing I could be considered really anal about. All the sets I've bought in the past 10 years or so are in their original boxes in good shape (stored in the attic). For older sets, all the bricks are in plastic storage bins (most of those are in Adam's room mixed with his sets). I'd guess Adam has 10,000 bricks on his own. If we still have the original instructions, they're scanned on my computer at home. For the instructions that have been lost to the sands of time, I've found some websites that have PDFs of out-of-production LEGO set instructions. I found the instructions for two of my first big sets there (a 1974 fire station set and a 1975 lunar lander set). There are inventory sites where you can list the LEGO kit numbers you own, and it'll spit out a listing of all the bricks you have. Like, how many red 2x4 bricks, and how many blue 2x4 bricks, and so on & so forth. Yep, I'm a geek.

I used to be good at 'kit-bashing' - designing & building my own stuff. One of the early models from when I was in Arch. school was a simplistic LEGO model representing the building's surroundings (all the buildings and stuff around mine), with a paper-cut model of my building. Yep, I'm a geek.

I don't have the time right now to do that sort of stuff right. Wish I did. Did I mention I'm a geek?

Those are some Technic kits from around the Episode 1 release (end of the '90s). Adam has the R2 and the Vader one (but I think he's lost some of the parts). He also has a little Technic Pit Droid that folds up.
