It's amazing just how much I can accomplish when the DIS is down. Boring! Now let's get back to having fun.

I did actually get work done this morning too. That's probably a good thing considering I am at work. ;)

Good Morning.

The DIS seems to be going a little faster for me today. I was so happy yesterday just to have it back but it was really sluggish for me. Today it's working fine. Unless it's just early and most of the DISers are still sleeping. :confused3

Good morning! As you know, I worked all weekend and haven't really had a chance to chat or surf the net. It's nice to be back. I slept for 12 hours last night, so my fingers should be able to fly over the key board. :)

Good morning.

Yes, I think the Dis was just slow yesterday after it's rough morning. Things seem better now.

Wendy, well rested fingers are very important. ;)

I'm waiting once again to hear if my friends are coming to town tomorrow. They keep bailing on me and I just need to know if I need to do an emergency house pick up tonight (basically prepare it for a 3 year old) and go grocery shopping.

I've gotten so used to extreme heat this summer that it actually hit 102 yesterday and I didn't even notice until I heard it on the news last night. Unbelievable. Fortunately, the humdity levels are around 20%, so it's not as big a wallop. This time next week, the highs are supposed to be in the mid 70's. Ahhhhh. That's about where it's supposed to be actually.

I watched a movie on Cinemax last night called Idiocracy. It was hysterical. I'd never heard of it until last night. It's a Mike Judge movie (of Beavis & Butthead, Office Space and King of the Hill fame) about America 500 years in the future. The entire country has been dumbed down by mass media, conspicuous consumerism and genetic watering down by the dumbest in society simply having more children than the smartest.

To top it off, the people in the future wore unbelievably garish clothing. The prisoners (Luke Wilson was in prison for part of the movie) wore bright orange jumpsuits. The footwear for the bright orange jumpsuits? Bright ... orange ... CROCS !!! :lmao:

I recorded the movie on my DVR. I won't be deleting it anytime soon.

Hey Grim. I've never actually heard of that movie. Sounds like something I'd like actually. I'll have to put it on my Netflix queue. I've got Blades of Glory at home to watch right now and I just can't find the time to watch.

We are back in normal temps again after a REALLY hot weekend. I know we'll have some more hot days later in the month though but for now, I'll enjoy it.

Good Morning.

TGIF :cool1:
Football season is now in high gear. We've got the High School football games to look forward to every friday night. Since my DD is in 10th grade we go to all the home games. Am I just getting old because all the students look so young? Ok, don't answer that. :rotfl:

Hey Chicks and Roosters!

No, Tricia, we're not any older.... the kids are just younger. The kids coming into my school now are 10-11 years younger than my daughter.... that's hard to believe.

Off to a busy weekend and very humid weather.... up in the 90's today! Summer has returned. :cool2:

Morning! Hard to believe it's already Friday  . Got alot of shopping to do today. I think Ethan and I will head to Olive Garden for lunch. Momma needs a Black Tie cake fix. ;) It's gonna be hot hot hot today.

Tricia I know what you mean about football season. I love that it's back just so I can see my Mountaineers' play. We don't go to many local football games. We have great teams, but usually I work or somethings going on with the kids that I never seem to have time. I plan on taking them to a WVU game this season, but it's so hard to get tickets anymore. I remember the BOGO deals from United bank (those were the days). Now tickets are scarce, and if you can find them their outrageous. I mean that's a Disney payment  .

Gonna get in the shower to get my day started.

Have a great Friday! :goodvibes

I'm going back and forth on this one. Help me out.

Would you take a 4 year old boy to CRT? I've heard there are also princes there too. I plan on taking him to Akershus for breakfast too. Maybe I should cut out those 2 and pick up lunch somewhere else. What do you think?

It would be great if they had breakfast with the Power Rangers.

To Wendy:

I would take him to only one of the two: CRT and/or Akershus, since they're both essentially princess meals and the same experience. Akershus is an easier get by far over CRT, though. Personally, I've just never had any desire to go to CRT, especially with it being so difficult to get into.

As for the appropriateness, I wouldn't worry at all about that. I do recall a prince or two at the Akershus meal, but it was overwhelmingly princesses. Believe you me, even at age 4, I would rather have been surrounded by a bunch of lovely princesses than any other characters. Even Mary Poppins showed up at Akershus. Yowzers. She may not quite have been Julie Andrews, but she was still quite the looker, and quick with winks, etc. Princess meals for me from now on, thank you! :)

There are plenty of opportunities in the parks to see the furrier types of characters.

Morning everyone.

Wendy, I'm no help as I've never been to a character meal at WDW. I think Grim's answer is great though because I know lots of 4 year old boys who do enjoy a pretty girl. ;) I've been to one character meal back on my 18th birthday at Disneyland. My dad was so horrified that an elf (this was Dec.) sat down at our table with us that he has refused any contact with character meals since. I told him that he'll be forced to when he is a grandfather. ::yes::

My friends are supposed to be coming today. I hope they don't bail on me again because I'm tired of making that bed (it's a trundle, it's an effort) and having them not come. Also, I just look forward to seeing them. :yay:

Ethan does have the eye for the girls. He may never want to leave :rotfl: . He's a little flirt:love: . I may just stick with Akershus. I wouldn't mind seeing a prince or two myself though.

Sorry I missed my morning check in.

Colin started playing fall baseball and today was his first game. Proud mom reporting that they won. :cheer2: It's still so darn hot outside. I'm waiting for the "fall" to kick in. 93 degrees is still summer to me.

I hope you are all enjoying your weekend. I'm going out to dinner with my SIL and the girls tonight. DH is taking Colin to the Tulane game in the Super Dome with his brothers and their sons. I guess they are having their own boys night out too.

Hello out there! I've been working in the yard all day, and I'm here to report it it freakin hot outside. I'm not a big water drinker, but I bet I could fill a swimming pool (small one) with the amount I've consumed! ;) Thought I'd take a break then head back out again.

I think we need an indian rain dance right about now. :dance3:

Good Afternoon! I'm exhausted! My best friend and her husband came with their 3 year old Friday night and left this morning. I've just started the last load of laundry and still have a few toys to pick up. I had a great time though. We took Alyssa to the beach yesterday which was the first time I'd been in a long time. She had fun getting completely soaked while we tried to avoid that freezing cold water. I still ended up coming home wet because someone had to go drag her out to go home and her parents were conveniently letting me handle it. It was such a nice day though. There were even whales off in the distance. All in all it was a very nice weekend. Hope you all had good ones as well. :thumbsup2

Happy sunday everyone  I'm still tired as all heck and just ready to collapse! I seem to be pulled in all directions lately! hahaha!! I just started blogging again, so it's almost like I just never have the time to do anything anymore!!

If you are interested i'm at:
www.princessbeadcharm.blogspot.com

I think i'm there more than anywhere else now! It's only one place i have to keep updated as oppsed to all the threads I belong to now!!

I hope you all are doing well!!!

Grim, that weather would have me passing out ALL DAY LONG! i can't stand the 80s we've been having here! hahaah!

Wow DMM, you are so close! Can't wait for the new baby!

I cannot believe how badly my computer situation has been going. If the computer guys are to be believed (I have my sincere doubts), my computer was struck by lightening and I lost modem, router and ethernet card in one fell swoop.

The upside is, I got a new computer out of the whole deal. ;)
