Good Saturday afternoon!

We did a fun thing last night - our friends StitchIsOurHero / StitchIsARedSoxFan came over last night for dinner and a card game - we also placed a deposit for a cruise! We'll be on a 4-day cruise departing July 6, 2008 - it's one of those that has 2 stops at Castaway Cay.

We went book shopping earlier today - we had some really good coupons that expire tomorrow. I got a used Time-Life "Great Photographs of World War 2", Norman Mailer's new novel "Castle in the Forest" (about WW2), and a book called "Warlords" that's a sort-of psychological examination of the four 'great' leaders of WW2 - Hitler, Stalin, Churchill & Roosevelt. Can you tell I'm a WW2 nut? Anyway, while we were there at the bookstore, my son Adam saw a couple of his friends who he hasn't seen for almost a year - they all had attended the same elem. school but we're zoned for a different middle school then these boys ('Irish Twin' brothers). So we invited them over to our house for this afternoon. And Katie decided to buy a guitar with her birthday money from Granny & Grandpa as we did grocery shopping at Walmart. It's very stormy outside, so they're all cooped up in the house.

So now Katie's learning to play guitar, and our living room has been invaded by 11 & 12 year-old-boys playing GameCube & PlayStation2 games - quiet is not an option. I was planning on working on my trip report, but I can't hear myself think so I'll just waste some time DISing...

ooo how fun for a cruise!! i wanna goooo!!!

Come on, then! We're excited. Cherie added a timetracker to her computer this morning. 445 days and counting... Castaway Cay is one of my favorite places on earth. The first time we cruised I thought I'd be totally bored within a half-day. They had to peel me away from the ship when the cruise was over. That trip was just us (Cherie, the kids & me). The last cruise was us, StitchIsOurHero / StitchIsARedSoxFan, and Cherie's mom & dad. This time it will just be us & SIOH/SIARSF. The sad thing is that I'm ready to go tomorrow - but we have to wait 15 months.

My 300th post. AGAIN!:sad2:

You *must* stop hanging around those threads that get banned! ;)

And hold my own hose, sure - but that hedgetrimmer is possessed.

GD - a double dipper!!! You lucky dog. pirate:

Susan - :lmao:

I mean, are you okay??

Hey Fab! How's it shakin' in Joisey this fine evening?

Tennessee is drenched. The squirrels are water-skiing on the puddles in the yard.

I'm avoiding writing on my trip report tonight. I'm trying to talk Cherie into watching a DVD with me, but so far she ain't biting.

DMM - seriously, one cannot hire a gardener around here for love nor money.

And I don't think all these dirty dishes would look very nice in a wicker basket.

GD - we're supposed to get a really bad storm tomorrow - called a Nor'easter, but I don't know exactly what that means.

Either way, that giant pile of gravel in my driveway is going to sit there another week.

SIGH.

What movie?

SIGH.

What movie?

"American Dreamz" - a spoof on the American Idol craze. It stars Hugh Grant, Mandy Moore, & Dennis Quaid. We've had it a couple of months now but this is the first Saturday night we've hung around home since before Christmas.

Here's how much I'm avoiding writing. I've even offered to watch (gasp) a chick-flick with her. I think we own every Reese Witherspoon movie known to mankind, so it might be something that rhymes with "Shmegally Kalonde" (she said earlier today that she wants to watch it again).

I have the "Alien" movies that I might get into if she'd rather not watch.

Cherie's going to bed now. I know, we're SUCH wild people. She's had a rough week. She left the bank last summer when she came to work with us full time, and they still haven't hired a replacement for her there. She's a CPA and her job was to do tax work for all the trusts and estates that the bank did. They hired her to come in on Saturdays to do tax season this year, on top of her "real" job of financially managing our architectural firm and our development company. I guess she hasn't just had a rough week, she's had a rough last few months.

So, since she's going to bed... I've decided that instead of a movie I'll start watching Season 1 & 2 of "The Office". That way if I nod off after 2 or 3 episodes it won't be like I've missed a lot.

Thanks so much for laughing at me Fab and Tricia! That's ok, I laughed at myself. :thumbsup2 I'm better now but I move a certain way and ooh does it hurt.

Sounds like some of you had a good Saturday. I dragged my mom to the mall where I scored some $10 shoes on clearance and looked for other things I seriously don't need. We then brought KFC home and we watched Hitch. I've given myself 15 minutes of computer time and then I need to get my laundry ready for tomorrow. :laundy: Have a great Sunday!

GD - I'm partial to the Alien movies myself. We FINALLY finished POTC. Do you think it's bad that the baby watched people being dragged across the ship and violently noshed on by the Krakken? ;)

Congrats on the shoe score, Susan! I must cease visiting shoebuy.com as a) I don't have any closet space left and b) I don't have any money, either. Look! Mickey Crocs. :rolleyes1

And I don't think all these dirty dishes would look very nice in a wicker basket.

hahhaha :) As soon as you dirty a dish wash it! no matter what! it's a pain to keep up with, but once you get into the flow of things, it's easy :)

I would love to! But i'm going to be too pregnant! We already had to cancel our Christmas Cruise, b/c the baby will be too small :sad1: oh well soon enough!!

Good morning everyone! :hippie:

I hope everyone has a great day. :)

So, you're planning on being pregnant 15 months from now?! Either you have a very, very odd gestation rate for a human, or you're Catholic and using a really bad version of the rythym method... (I'm not slamming Catholics - I was raised as one myself)

I ended up splitting the difference (work on trip report vs. couch potato) last night. I told myself I HAD to get finished with the Keys To The Kingdom tour part of my trip report yesterday. So I buckled down and worked on it from about 9:30 until about 11:00 (and finished it - yeay me!). I monkeyed around on the DIS and a couple of other sites too - I'm not an "all work, no play" kind of guy. I then watched three episodes from Season 1 of "The Office" - stayed up until about 12:15. And then I went to bed to read for a half-hour or so.

Seriously, the KttK tour part of our upcoming trip report is really, really long. In the Word document it is 14 pages by itself - using 10 point Tahoma font. We made a point of brainstorming EVERYTHING we could remember about the tour right after we finished it - we sat down at the Dole Whip place and spent about an hour coming up with good detailed outline that I could work from. It's not quite a word-for-word account, but it's a very detailed account. The sad part is that we did KttK on the morning of our 2nd day - so I still have 4+ days of the trip left to write about. I might be able to wrap-up Day 2 and finish Day 3 today - we'll see. On weekday nights I'm lucky to get a half-day's worth written, so I might be "done" done by next weekend. I've been slipping progress versions to all of us (KAMommy, SIOH & SIARSF - KAMommy is our resident proofreader) and they think this one is going to be better than the others I've done. I don't know - I just writes 'em. SIOH will do a separate dining report in conjunction with this - we're hoping to wrap everything up about the same time.

Fab - my thoughts on the PotC "Dead Man's Chest" is that it is filler before the third movie comes out this summer. Watchable filler, but filler none-the-less. I love the race up the cliffside in the bone balls, and Cpt. Jack's attempt to escape from the cannibals. Have you seen the trailer for PotC3 yet? As far as the baby being traumatized by the Kraken scene - My dad took me with him to see "Deliverance" when it first came out in the early '70s (I was 2 or 3) - look how I turned out!!! (For the record, I don't remember it clearly - just that mom was really pissed at him for me tagging along - and I still dream about the phrase 'squeal like a pig' to this day)

Good morning Susan, Muffycat & Jeanny!
