Sorry about your weather Tricia. We are cold but sunny and dry. It's wreaking havoc with my skin. I hope you get that sunshine soon.

Susan, I hope you survived your night with the kiddies.

Thanks Joanne, I did survive because there were 3 adults watching 2 kids. It was great! Of course I didn't get paid but that's fine, I got to chat with my friends and cuddle with an adorable 2 year old.

Is this something that is done regularlly that they need sitters?

It's not a regular thing. My mom is the administrator at the preschool (my old job actually) and tries to have a family event every month. This month it was a seminar on discipline for young children. There wasn't a huge turn out so there were not many children for the child care. I don't know what next month will hold but I usually get roped into helping.

Hey Susan. Glad to hear you didn't have to give the speech on DW to quiet down the little ones last night.

How's the oranges out your way? Did they survive or did they all die with the frost?

It's bad. The majority were wiped out but some were saved. There were just too many cold nights in a row. Most growers plan ahead for years like this but it is still devastating. Those who managed to save some are going to be getting a good price.

That really is a shame. I guess it'll be Florida oranges this year.

I see your cruise is coming up. Is that a fun vacation or a work trip?

The cruise is just a touch of work but mostly fun. I "have" to take a ships tour and then I have to fill out an evaluation. Pretty tough work for a 7 day cruise. The most work will be keeping my dad occupied so I can get my manicure and pedicure.

Not quite. I did run all around town doing errands today. It was so nice and bright.

It's sunny out there now. I can't wait for lunch when I can go get in my warm cozy car. This office is always cold.

I'm on hold with an airline which is a normal part of my job but this particular one is driving me crazy. Every 4 seconds (I counted) it says "At the present moment, all staff are assisting other customers, thank you for your patience". That's not necessary! Every minute is fine. They have some lovely music playing in between the announcements but when you only get 4 seconds at a time, you don't get to experience it.

I just wanted to inform you that I've upgraded from allergies to a cold. I am officially sick. It can't be allergies anymore. I've been sneezing and I might as well tape a tissue to my nose I've been using them so much. I just want to get into bed but unfortunately my mom is very sick so I've been "taking care of" my dad. You know, feeding him and doing laundry. He's so cute though. He knows how to run the dryer now and he is very proud of himself.

Sorry you're not feeling well Susan. You need to go to bed early and stay home tomorrow. You can tell work that Tricia said so.
I think that is so cute that your Dad can work the dryer. Next lesson will be the washing machine.
