Morning. Hope you are all warm and safe. I was at a funeral in the central valley (California) yesterday and the ice was just hanging off the oranges. It was so sad to see. Some of the schools in our county were closed today due to ice. It's awful. Unless of course you are the child with no school. Then its awesome!

I heard a news report this morning that estimated CA citrus crop losses at 75% or so due to the freezing. Yikes!

Right now, the only thing around here with ice hanging off is our friendly-neighborhood lunchtime Elvis impersonator out on the Square. Temps are mid 20s here, with a bracing wind. I thought it might be cold enough to disuade him, but no dice.

Wow Susan the oranges must have been a site to see. That's a shame because I'm sure the prices of what's left will skyrocket.

I don't think I could ever live up north. It's in the 30's here today and very windy. Not fun at all I tell ya.

I grew up in Indiana, so believe me: I'd much rather have temps in the 30s in Tennessee than in the 10s.

We are hoping for warmer weather starting tonight so if it can just get up into the 30's in the valley, there is still a chance for some growers. Expect to pay a lot more for citrus though. I guess avacado's are also not fairing well. I grew up on a ranch with plums and grapes. I remember my dad up all night running the wells and irrigating.

I've done all of my general systems stuff already. Today is kind of slow. I will primarily be working through a couple/three more 3D tutorials today with a few exceptions. I have a short meeting later this morning (with one of our principal partners & our interior designer) to discuss a proposal we're putting together for a spa project. I have another really short imprompto meeting later this morning (or this afternoon) with one of our architectural designers about tweaking some of our CAD standards. Lunch is free for us today - we have Pella (window & door company) giving us a catered (sandwiches & salads) lunchtime presentation here about some of their new products. We call these "Lunch 'n' Learn"s.

Right now we are all just chatting and hanging out because the bosses are looking at new properties. They want to move into a different building with lower rent. I can understand that but frankly I really love this office so I am a bit sad.

Well, the play day didn't last very long since we are very busy right now. It looks like they found a new office. It will be about a month before it is ready but we are moving. I'm sure I'll adjust.

Thanks guys! Yes, I did smile at that darn banana. I also pictured the little jumpy guy falling. That helped. It has just been so busy at work and home. I just haven't had a free weekend since way before Christmas so I am really, really looking forward to tomorrow. I hope to take down my Christmas tree. . .
