I have heard so many great comments about this soup. However, I don't like beer. Would I still enjoy this soup or should I choose something else? :confused3

You will find many fans of the soup and I believe that most would agree that you really can't taste the beer. I had this soup in December and personally I didn't really enjoy it that much. I don't like beer and I couldn't taste it at all. We will be eating at Le Cellier again but I will not be getting the soup again.

I can't stand the smell of beer. But I do like it in cooking. It is completely different.
The best way to bake a turkey is to pour a beer over it, bake in the oven, and baste occasionally. :)

Same here as well...would never even touch beer and looove the soup!! To me it's probably the best thing at LeCellier!

I liked the soup, and I don't like beer either...you couldn't really taste it. That said, the soup WAS different than I expected. While you couldn't taste the beer...I found it also wasn't that cheesy tasting either! It had more of a cream soup taste. I still enjoyed it though :)

I have one of the Disney cookbooks and have made the Le Cellier cheddar soup at home several times. It has very little beer compared to the other ingredients. My kids love the soup, and, of course, hate even the smell of beer. I just don't tell them it's in the soup. I buy the bake at home pretzels to serve with it. Not as good as Le Cellier, but here in NJ it is as close as you can get to the real thing. :stir: :stir: :stir:

I hate beer and couldn't taste it. Mmmmmmmmm, I could go for a bowl :)

I can taste the beer. I'm not fond of beer, but the beer is an undernote and complements the salt and cheese well. Its a good soup despite the beer.

(However, I'm from Minnesota, and beer cheese soup is popular around here (not as much as it is next door in Wisconsin) - so I was expecting beer cheese soup.)

I don't care for beer, but loved this soup. I could taste the beer a little bit, but not overpowering at all. I scarfed it down and wanted more, but couldn't have it. I think you'll like it. It's wonderful.
