Checking into RPH before getting AP

I think this has been covered before, but just wanted to double check if this was ok. I have an AP rate at RPH and plan to check in first thing in the morning to get our FOTL passes. I plan to then head to US to get our tickets & my AP. Will this be ok? I do have a receipt for the AP which I will bring.

One more question...does it take a long time to get the actual AP made? I read you have to go into the park and get your pic.

Okay, yet a third question: can I use the Loewe's First line if I am using an AP rate? (I know it doesn't qualify for perks, just not sure about check in lines.) I have a son with autism so I'm always trying to plan out the least wait scenerios.

Thanks! First time to Universal and I feel so unprepared! :confused3

OOPS, just realized I should have posted this in the hotel forum. Sorry. :bitelip:

it's fine to check in and drop your bags first thing in the morning. your receipt for your AP with be enough to get the rate.

I'd suggest going to vacation services first thing when you enter a park to process your AP. you'll grab a clipboard and fill out a form with your info, and have your picture taken and your AP printed. it takes about 15 minutes at the most.

I don't know about the Loew's first line, I've never joined. we use the AP or resident rates, so it seems like a waste.

I have used Lowes express check in several times when using my AP to get the lower rate. Never had a problem doing it. I have even used it to get late check out when using the AP rate. As far as getting your AP I would suggest going to Universal not IOA to get it. I have done both and the Universal wait was much less and more organized then IOA. Maybe some other people can give you their thoughts on which park to go to get your AP.

I just did my first AP (at the IOA side) a week ago today, and it was very quick and the ladies at the counter were very helpful. We (wife, son and I) did get there early (9ish) and it took less than 15 minutes total for the 3 of us, (we were 2nd in line, fill out the clipboard while waiting for your turn with the camera). Very easy, and my pic wasn't as horrible as my drivers license :-)

I've never had to use my Loews First card for check in because I've never had a line at either PBH or RPR :cool1: .

I use APH or FLO every visit and the Loew's 1st program has been excellent for us. We are upgraded every visit and all but twice received our welcome amenity. We get free access to the fitness center. We get the newspaper. We even get late chek outs. You can use the Loew's 1st check in using APH rates and that has saved me a lot of time.
