We have rented points and have never stayed at a DVC resort. We are also driving now instead of flying. How does checking in work? Is there self parking at BCV? And do they have luggage carts we can take out to the car and use ourselves or no? (For the villas?) Would we have to go to the BC lobby entance for help with that instead? (It always takes us forever to get all our junk out of the car so we like to do it ouselves.) We will be also checking in early before rooms will be available. Can you do this at BCV? We will be heading off to the parks ASAP. Thanks! Shan :)

Shan... You do use the BC check in as well as bell services for BCV. To be honest, I have never seen anyone do it themselves, but I imagine that you could. You can check-in early, they will give you a card with a phone number on to call and check if you room is ready. There is self parking at BCV and it is pretty close to the rooms.

Check-in is the same as any other resort. Guests cannot use the luggage carts themselves. When we stay at BWV, we just pull up and let them take the luggage out and put it onto a cart and into storage while we check-in. We let them valet park the car, but you could self park if you wished. You could also self park and leave the luggage in the car while you check-in and then get the luggage out yourself later.

Sooo... We could actually drive up, let them take our luggage and ask them to store it, go and check-in, get the card to call and see when our room will be ready and head off to the parks. Now after they get our luggage out and we come back from checking in could we move our car ourselves over to self parking over at BCVs? In other words, will they let us leave our car out while we go in to check-in?
Also... Will they transfer our luggage to our room when it is ready automatically or do we have to call to have it brought up when we get back to our room? And if so will it take forever?
Guess we need to be somewhat organized with our things when we pull up it sounds...
We have flown past trips when they always stored our luggage, but we had no car with our junk in it to worry about and no kids at the time, except last two trips and that was at All-Stars. Different scene there. ;)
Thanks! Shan :)

My suggestion would be to pull up, let them take your luggage and store it, while one of your party goes in to start the check in process. After all the luggage has been removed you can then go self-park the car and then meet the person who is starting the check in process.

As far as retrieving your luggage at BCV, you actually have to be in your room for bell services to come. So once your room is ready, you go to your room and hit the bell services button to retrieve you luggage. Each time I have been there they have brought the luggage within 15 minutes.
