Checking in with AP voucher for AP discount?????

We are planning a trip in late August and have AP's. We have not activated them yet, and will not do so until the second day of our trip. I was wondering if we could just show them our AP voucher? Or do we actually have to have the AP to show them in order to receive the AP discount on rooms? Thanks for the help.

The voucher is fine, actually a few times they never even asked me to show it.

And even if they ask for the actual AP at check-in, they will give you a 24 hour grace period to get one before they cancel your room discount.
