Checking in from Hurricane Frances

Barry & I came through Frances OK, as did our house! The bad thing is that we will not have power until probably Sunday! Ugh!

We evacuated to a hotel in Kissimmee for 3 nights, but are back home now. It's good to be home, & with what we have seen we feel very grateful that our home is there to come home to!

On a lighter note, we spent yesterday in MK! The park was in pretty good shape, there were some trees down some roof tiles off, the monorails were not running until late in the day, but overall things looked pretty good. I do not know about any of the other parks.

I have been doing well so far with exercise, but now with this heat & no AC & may fall off some. I will post to the Sept exercise thread when I'm not on a borrowed computer. Now food - well that's another story. With no power we have to stick to non-perishables, so I haven't done very well staying on plan. Of course, dinner at Chef Mickey's last night didn't help much either! Really, I'm trying to stay as close as I can.

I hope everyone else in FL is safe & having no major storm related problems. I'll check back in again if I'm able to borrow a working computer, otherwise I'll be back as soon as our power & cable are restored.

Nancy, I'm glad you guys made it through the storm okay. I hope your power gets restored quickly. We were only without it for a little over 9 hours and it was hard, I can't imagine going for days without it. Hang in there and do your best.

So glad to hear that you made it through the storm okay. I can't imagine what it is like to live through hurricanes and have to worry about your personal safety and that of your home. I am hoping that your power is returned soon. {{HUGS}}

Good news! The power is back on! From what a number of our neighbors had been told, we weren't expecting it so soon, but I sure am glad it's back!

Please send your prayers & PD to our neighbors whose homes were damaged by Frances. Quite a few of the homes in our development were pretty badly damaged by Frances. The house behind us lost it's carport & part of the roof. A number of others lost roofs & siding, & there was some damage from falling trees. I expect the entire state will be a while in recovering.
