I've read on here about people moving stuff in the mini-bar in their rooms and it being charged to their cards as they have to leave an imprint when they check-in.

Is it compulsory to leave card details at check-in? I don't intend using the min-bar and I won't be charging any purchases to my account.

I recall we've left an imprint on past visits.
If you don't charge anything to your hotel id and don't use the mini bar you'll not be charged :)

You don't have to, but if you want to use the Hotel ID card for purchases then obviously you will.

I haven't been asked for an imprint of any card at check-in. We haven't had a mini bar and we haven't charged anything.

Is the mini bar a fridge?????

It would save alot of hassle if for me I could just have an empty fridge availlable as my daughter needs a special milk formula as she cannot tolerate milk or soya and it needs made up fresh every 24 hours.
Do you think if I requested it they would allow it.

The mini bar is a small fridge, I'm sure it was decided on here once that it was only the ones at HNY and DLH that would charge if an item was moved and that the ones at NPBC and SL weren't that technical, so it would be OK to move things around to make room for storage. :)

I just feel uncomfortable about having to leave an imprint when I have no intention of using it. I just wanted to check if: a) they ask for one, b) if i can refuse.

I am staying in a montana room at SL, but definitely won't be using the mini-bar!

The ladies from housekeeping check them.
We had the same problem. Moved a little botlle of wiskey and got charged. (NPB)
