Checked my rental car price for my October trip, price went down significantly

Hi everyone,
This morning I checked my rental car price for my trip in October. The price went from $247.36 down to $130.85. I saved almost $120 just by checking the price and rebooking. This is for the same size car and the same exact dates/times and using the same Sam's Club code.

I am so excited, just over 6 weeks until vacation.

We do this all the time! What an awesome rate! My DH is constantly checking the rates and codes up until the day we leave; it's totally worth it when you can save $$$$!!!!
A lot of times when we book a trip we book the car rental right away so we know where we're starting, and then try to chip away at the price as the dates get closer.

I got a great rate on a Budget rental - int SUV (Escape size) for 7 nights in October = $150, around $200 including tax/fees. The special is right on their website... I was happy with that deal!

My current rental company is Enterprise. But I am still checking prices up to the day I leave, so this could change.

You must be a Sam's Club member. The codes are available at the Customer Service desk, just ask if they are not displayed.

Here are the codes that I used. I went to Travelocity and checked all of these codes at the same time. Make sure you click the "advanced search" button and pick your rental car company and then use these codes.

National- 5027942
Alamo- 7014751-- Alamo also accepts coupons on top of this code, check mousesavers.com for current codes.
Avis- B935200
Budget- W810100

I have a question about rental cars. What is their 'week' We are arriving on Sun, 10/9 at 2:30 and departing Sun, 10/16 at 9:30. Since it is a few hours short, is that not considered a week? What if I tell them the wrong time and bring it sooner or pick up later? Am I penalized?

OP Thanks saved $50 and got a SUV instead of a car. DH will be happy. PS used coupon MUWZ023 which will save $25 when we get there.(an old coupon from prior trip it still worked).

Sorry I didn't mention it was Budget. I went to their site as suggested here on the right side of the screen was the offer $17 a day for economy and $22 for larger vehicle. I used the MUWZ023 from a previous trip and it worked.

OP here. I am so sorry! you need to put the codes where it says Corporate Discount #

To find the advanced search option:

1: On the first car rental page on Travelocity, when you see the Search Now button- directly below it is the See Advanced Search Options button.

2: Put you information into questions 1-5. In question #6 click on the down arrow to find your rental car companies.

Once you pick a company, you will need to put the codes that I previously gave in the Corporate Discount box.

I am sorry for the confusion. Please let me know if you need any more clarification.

Hope that you can get a better rate with one of these codes.

I believe that most if not all rental car companies consider a week anything over 5 days.
