This only helps if you are planning on renting a car. I just checked our SWA flights for late January, and we now have $88 credit per person for switching to Tampa instead of Orlando. We've done the drive from TPA before, so it doesn't bother us. And there's no way our rental car will be $240+ more (x the 3 people who received flight credit). If you aren't using ME - check your fares!

We did this on April. Providence-Orlando would have been around $2300 for 3 of us ( school vaca week) but Hartford-Tampa was less than $800! Rental car was cheaper too...I think we rented a minivan for about $330 for the week.

Nice score OP!

We decided to cap our upcoming May trip off with a few days @ beach, flying into MCO and out of TPA.

was surprised to see all the NS flights home out of TPA were higher than MCO:confused3, but haven't given up, I've been stalking the website for over a month;)

We're trying Tampa for our next trip too. GRR-MCO was $155/person with the only non-stop flight arriving around 5pm. GRR-TPA was only $115/person and the flight arrives at 9am. So, we saved $160 and got better times. We don't typically rent a car at WDW so I booked a one-way from TPA to the Car Care Center. I figure we'll stop for groceries and then drop off the luggage and such at the resort before dropping off the car.

I'm not fond of driving a significant distance before a flight. We've had some bad luck with delays (flat tire = 3 hours!, driver running a stop sign = 2 hours, hubby hit a deer = 1 hour) and I would be so worried about missing our flight, I'd leave about 5 hours early:rotfl2:. So, for our trip home, we are going to fly out of MCO. The flight into GRR departs at 10am so I said NO WAY to that one:faint:. I refuse to get up at 5am to go home. We decided to fly home into FNT which is about an hour and a half away. The flight departs at 2pm which is perfect:thumbsup2.
