So, tonight, we were at the park and OH geez. Well, we went on Pirates.
As I stepped onto the ride, a family behinds us got on as well. All of a sudden there was this smell. A loaded diaper! The Mom says "uh oh" Dad says something like " Wow it really smells." At this time they should have immediately walked right on and then off , but instead, just sat down, told the little boy with the loaded diaper to just stand. The boat hadnt even left yet. There was time to get off.
I literally had to sit all the way forward with my hand over my nose and still got a wiff of it the whole ride.
I felt like I was being held hostage!!
So to all the mommies and daddies out there, please, if you know your little angel is packin' please, Im beggin ya!! Don't finish the ride cause you want to and sentence us all to the odor !
Grrrrr.Really gross.

That is child neglect and ooh gross and nasty. The CM would have allowed them to change the kid then come back. Poor kid and what you think home life is like.

That is gross and disgusting. Not to mention that the little one,had to stand for a 15 minute plus ride. I wonder if the tike had any seepage issues. ha ha! Well actually not so funny not only for him, who should have gone to the bathroom sooner, but as well for the misfortunate soul who ends up sitting there next. Then there is the person who has to clean it up. Let me tell you, if I was a power that be, I would try to nicely ask them to please clean up after your son, and then I would proceed to hand them some butt wipes, that is what I call them, for really that is what they are. :)
I am sorry that you had to experience that odious odor! Blah!!

Oh, that is just NASTY! :sad2:

And it *is* child neglect. Having a little kid wait a couple of minutes til they can be taken to a suitable place to change the diaper? Fine. Making the poor kid stand there in poopy pants (and everyone on the boat have to smell the accident) for 15 or so minutes? NOT OK.

Pee you, exactly!! Or in this case, poop and probably some pee too! :faint: from the stink!!

yeah it was pretty gross. And the fact that the parents were like "oh well" was really really annoying! Infuriating actually. For the little boy and the rest of us.

Thats one problem CMs have to deal with. CMs sometime just cant force a guest to do something. :\

Ive tried, trust me. :\ I ask a lady politely to change their babies diapers on a restroom, not on the cart where it serves food. :\ They just continued like im invisible. D: D: D: I told them, "Ma'am, please MOVE, WE HAVE FOOD HERE." and im still invisible.

Well, i believe in karma so take that lady!!! :)

OMG! That is really terrible. It always amazes me how people treat waiters and food service staff. Like, hello?? Can you be any more rude?
And smelly baby diaper on the food cart?? It makes me wonder what their homes look and smell like.
ick:sick:

Ugh, how gross! On a food cart? And how RUDE to just ignore you.

Wonder if she changes baby's diaper on the kitchen counter at home? :scared1: Scary!

Baby experts here is a question for you. How long does it take for a baby diaper to smell like poop and how long does it take to get the point you are holding the kid at arms length and have a clothespin on your nose? pirate:

Also isn't Pirates one of the rumps on the seat at all times type of ride? If so then how could the kid be standing? Shouldn't a CM said something about the standing kid?
:confused3

I can walk into any room in my house that has children in it(I am a childcare provider)- and tell which child just pooped by the smell- It does not take long for it to stink- - and if it was as bad as the OP said it was, then the parents knew about it..

The parents must be immune to their kids smell. Ugh
Changing diapers is one of my pet peaves.

I don't know why many parents can't just change diapers in a restroom? Just irks me.

I seriously do not think this was a case of child neglect. Trust me, in my line of work I have seen what real child neglect due to diapers not being changed looks like. And a few minutes is not going to make a difference. Were the parents rude idiots? Yes. Still doesn't make them neglectful though.

And sometimes you can smell a dirty diaper immediately. Once the child goes, you can smell it. Then there are times were it can take a while. All depends.

As far as the CM not saying anything about the child standing, if the child was young enough, you probably couldn't tell he was standing. Not tall enough to be seen as set of any detectors.

No matter what, that is still gross that you had to smell it.

I was just thinking how people are in a long line, realize they need to change the kid, and pretend like nothing has happened so that they will be able to get on the ride before anyone notices.

I agree. A total lack of consideration on the parents' part and the dad himself said it really smelled. Kinda makes you want to lock them in a small enclosed environment with somebody else's kid's dirty diaper for a few hours and see how they like it!

Dh and I closed on our house years ago and the lady buying it had a toddler with a dirty diaper. He arrived poopy and two hours later and me almost dead from the fumes, he was still that way. The real estate agent asked her to change it and she refused. She was mad at me for not throwing in my kid's slide and I guess she punished me. But I bet that kid had a raw bum so he was the one punished the most. Idiots should never have kids!

I was about to get all mad and be like...what am I supposed to do if he poops in the middle of POTC? Just get off the ride? lol But then I read your post...

If the parents did in fact know of it before boarding then yes, they should have left. I would have. No question. And sometimes it smells awful while they are still filling their diaper and other times it takes several minutes for it to present itself. Sorry you had a bad ride.

Woah thats sick. I would never put my son through that. The parents should have gotten off the ride. I mean its so inconsiderate to not only the child but to you and everyone else as well.
