Hi folks,
I've just saved 100.00 on our upcoming November trip.
Just a reminder to check your prices if you're flying Southwest or AirTran in a near future.

Someone had posted here that SWA had Buffalo-Orlando flights at 110.00 for several days in the fall. I verified this to be true and that it was cheaper than the prices when I was reaseaching for my trip.

I had however booked with Airtran, which was the cheapest option back in July. I've just checked today and the price dropped 25.00 per person on our return only. I called them and got a credit of 100.00 on my A+ account.

I'm glad because I would have to pay 80.00 to 120.00 in luggage anyway (we usually fly with 2 or 3 checked bags) so that was a great way of saving it.

Question: can you apply the credit to bag fees AT the airport when doing the check-in?
The AirTran person over the phone told me it's not possible, I need to do online check-in and call them at that time so they can apply the credit in bag fees. However, I read online that other people have done this in the past.

Hope this can help someone.

Thanks, Camilo

Thanks we're flying AirTran in a few weeks I will check now although I doubt they are cheaper I got them at 604 for three of us tax and seat reserving, which I thought was a slamming deal myself, then again I never travel so maybe not lol.

i thought there was a fee for changes did you purchase an insurance?

Nope, no insurance :)
They dont't advertise on the website, but if their price drops (which they do quite often), they will give you credit back (no questions asked, no hassle).

Another little secret from AirTran is that if they change your flight time (even by a few minutes), they will allow you to change and pick a different fight for free.

I hope this can help someone.

Thank you for this I never knew! And we usually fly airtran!

That's great news that you can use your savings for the bags. I have a credit on SWA that's about to expire; haven't booked another flight, and they wouldn't let us use it to buy early check in, which was a drag. Good job on noticing the lower fare. :cool1:
