Check-out time

What is the latest time they have let you check out of the room? We are staying at OKW and our flight leaves at 5:55 pm. We would like to stay at the pool until 2 p.m. Where would you get changed if they make you check out of the room before you are done with the pool?

Check out time is 11am. DVC does not allow for late check-outs. Near the main pool at OKW there are restrooms with showers, you may change there.

Last January at BWV one member of our party was extremely, extremely sick. I mean couldn't get out of bed sick. Anyway, when housekeeping came at 11 telling us we needed to get out of the room we gave them a $20 bill and asked if we could have a little longer. They didn't come back until 1:30 at which point we left. Our flight wasn't until 8:00 so that really helped. Not sure if this was normal, we have never requested a late check-out other than this time.

No fun to be sick on vacation! Do think it's a matter of courtesy to vacate on or before check-out time, so the room can be turned over...it's nice to check in early.

Again, the official policy is no late check-outs. There have been reminders of the policy in Vacation Magic from time to time. Being sick is one thing, holding onto a room for "convenience" is another.

SSR also has nice restrooms with showers near the pool area that we've used to freshen up before a later flight and several hours after we've already checked out.
