i know i can request a late check out at 1pm when i check in if it is available
we will be using the ME so i also know they leave the resort about 3 hours before the flight departure and ours is at 6:40 (the inital one was 3:30 but the price went up for jet blue to $119) so we would leave the resort at 3:40pm
what do i do for those 4½ hours between check out 11am and the time ME leaves???
are we allowed to linger in the resort? get lunch at the food court?
what else can i do ???
we will be at the ASMo

thanks

We went to Downtown Disney and did some shopping. We ended up having a nice lunch and killing time as well.

I believe you can also stay at the resort and use the pool "one last time" if you wanted.

Either way, do something fun before you leave!!!

Our flight is at 4 so I added a day to our Park Hoppers (not much to add one more day) and we will check out early and store our luggage at the desk at Pop and head over to MK. Spend the morning there and have CS lunch there and then come back to Pop for our Sunray pickup.

I say squeeze all the magic you can out of that last day! Esp with such a late flight!

Doing the same as Momof CKJ...our flight is at 5pm. We'll check out of the Poly, have them hold our bags, we have ADRs for 9am @ 1900 Park Fare, then we'll head over to MK to walk around, see all the decorations, and be back at the Poly by 2:45pm for our Tiffany Towncar pickup.

The price difference between a 7 day park hopper and an 8 day park hopper for the 5 of us was $10!!! Well worth the money to book the later flight and get some last minute Disney magic in.

Even though resort check out time is 11;00, guests are still allowed to use the resort facilities, pool, etc and transportation until midnight of check out day.

We went to Typhoon Lagoon on our last day to kill the time

I suggest some of the same activites as other posters...

First, have the hotel hold your luggage for you

Then, maybe one of these ideas...
Spend the day in one of the parks
Shop at Downtown Disney
Check out the Boardwalk
Relax at the pool, get a good lunch
Check out other resorts if you haven't--maybe have lunch at the Poly or at Chef Mickey's or at the Wilderness Lodge. We love to walk around other resorts and maybe do a little shopping in the gift shops.

You don't "kill time" at disney--EVER----you enjoy every last single second of it -------RIGHT????????? :thumbsup2

We usually have the resort hold our luggage and we go to DTD and do some last minute shopping and have lunch. It has always worked out well for us.

During our last trip, I checked out at 6:30am and had the resort hold our bags. We were on the bus to MGM at 7:15. Spent our last morning taking advantage of EMH. We had 6 hours to redo our favorites before heading off to the airport.

I'm planning to do the same during our next trip.

You can have your bags stored at Bell Services (i think that's what it's called). Then enjoy your last moments. We went to Epcot, and the kids did the free mask thing, while we walked around and soaked up the atmosphere.

That still leaves a good chunck of the day! Add a day to your tickets--probably doesn't cost too much, and use that day to do something at the parks you weren't able to get to. Or repeat whatever you thought was the most fun part of your trip.

Go to Downtown Disney and rent out one / several of the speedboats or boats they have there...you can zip around on the big Disney lake it was such a blast when we did the little speedboats!

Our plane leaves about the same time. My DH and I are using the day to check out some of theo other resorts. We're doing breakfast at O'hana's in the am so we can look at the Poly.. Part of my master plan.. hoping to stay there on my next visit :thumbsup2 .. then maybe check out the WL and do some shopping before ME comes and it's back to reality :(

My wife and always do MGM on our last day before ME picks us up. We can "do" the whole park by 4pm. Plus it is my favorite park. The park is just the right size for us that we can get there by 10am and do all the stuff that makes the park enjoyable in the right amount of time.

As for DTD, we treid that once. It was great to eat Earl Of Sandwich again before we left, but we found trying to fit all the extra goodies we bought in allready packed luggage was the opposite of fun. Especially when you are doing it on a sidewalk while the ME bus driver is trying to load. Our fault, I know. That is why we save our DTD shopping for the last night we are thier.

On our next trip we are going to try a water park and minigolf half day and eat our resort before we leave. That sounds relaxing to me.... :smokin:

Several of yu mentioned the hotel "holding" your luggage. But can't you just go ahead and check your luggage if you're using ME?

thanks i was wondering that too, but would it leave on a diff plane than ours??
or do they just hold it until its ready to go?

Our plane was at at the same time, we added a day on our pass. WE used ME so we checked out luggage in at our resort (ASMu). Had breakfast at Ohana's and let the kids decide what was the last thing they wanted to do again. The all wanted to ride EE and see Festival of the Lion King. Thats what we did and had plenty of time. Have fun soak up every minute.

We come and go by Amtrak, and usually don't board till around 3 pm. We always ask for a late check out, always has been granted, 1 pm, and we do late shopping, pool dip and get everything organized plus pack some lunch for the return trip home. At 1 pm we head to bell services for a cab to the Kissimmee train depot and arrive in enough time to board.
