Hi all,
DH just bought me a new camera. I am thrilled with the quality. It has an 18x optical zoom, 10 mp and can even record in HD. This is the perfect point and shoot camera with an amazing super zoom lens. It is equivalent to a 28-486 mm on a 35mm camera. I just used the camera at yesterdays' Kansas City Chiefs game. It is a very easy camera to use. You literally just point and shoot. DH paid $259, so I think it is a reasonable price for the quality of camera. If you are in the market for a new digital camera, this is a good option.

Here are a few pictures. Unfortunately, the prayers in the first picture did not help us win the game. LOL!

Love the photos! Congrats on the new camera! :goodvibes

I have to thank you too - my HD saw these pics and said "maybe you should get one of those"

My dad ordered this same camera and got it in the mail TODAY!!! He's very excited. Looks like a great little camera! Nice pictures!

So far, I really love this camera. If you want something a little smaller, there is another Panasonic that Dis'rs really love. I think it is the TMZ5, or something like that. But honestly. this camera was small enough to fit in my purse, so it isn't nearly as big as my monster DSLR camera.

Love the shots. I have heard many good things about the panasonic point and shoots. Can't believe how much optical zoom they have now. Amazing.

I've checked out the DMC-TZM5 and the one that you have, and can't make up my mind. I tried out the Sony Cybershot H10 today and really liked that one, hated all of the Canons (surprising for me) and was eehhh about the smaller cheaper Panasonic's.

I love the photos you can get with your zoom too - that will really come in handy for some of our trips when I can't take the D60. The clarity of the photos you took really amazes me. I had no idea that you could get that kind of picture with a zoom. The action shots are spot on. Impressive!

How far into the stands were you? I'm guessing not far by the angle but still very close shots for a P&S and quite clear.

How does it do in low light, though?

I was about 5 rows back. Here is a picture that shows how far back. I haven't had the opportunity to test in low light, but according to the Consumer report it does well. I immediately thought of low light situations at WDW and I hope to test it out soon. I agree that for a point and shoot, it is pretty good quality. I'm used to my dslr, which is gigantic compared to this camera. But I have to say that the Panasonic is definitely more user friendly.

Anyway, here is the picture. I'm still zoomed in though. The guy wearing the Indian head gear was in row 1 and I was 4 rows behind him.
