I know that check in time is about 4pm. What time in your experiences can I actualy get my room key ? I know if a room is ready they will give it to you early, but do any of you get in early on a regular basis?

You can check in early and they will give you your Key To The World (KTTW) card. At that time, you can add your park tickets, except AP's, and the DDP onto the card if you wish. If the room is not ready, you will be given a card with a phone number to call later to see if the room is ready.

Once your room is ready, the key will be able to open the door.

We've never gotten into our rooms before 3pm.

It will depend upon which resort, season, and overall occupancy as to whether you'll get you room early or not. About 1/3 of the time we get in by 2pm, sometimes as early as 9:30am. Most of the time, though, we have to wait until a little after 4pm. And if they are really busy and short staffed, it may be later than 5pm.

I think Chuck has it mostly right. The only time you might look forward to earlier check-in is at Vero Beach. We get it regularly.

We haven't gotten an early check in, in the last three trips, but before that, quite a bit and as early as 10:30 a.m. I imagine it has something to do with how many people check out early enough for mousekeeping to get the rooms in shape early in the a.m.

We always drop off our bags and get all our cards upon arrival and then go out and about. We check periodically during the day, but we usually stay close to the resort so that when the room is ready we can do our unpacking right away. Arrival day is usually a non park day for us anyway.

Have fun planning Joe!

We understand that our last day is also the check-in day for someone else... so we always try our best to have the room as clean as possible and check-out as early as we can to make it possible for someone else to check-in early. This is one of our goals... everytime. We know when we get a room early it is because someone else made it possible.
