Hi we are flying with virgin from manchester in May. What is the latest time for check in we fly about 10.30 and our taxi thinks he cant get us there till 7.30 -8am we have our seats pre booked is that too late. also what are the chance of the flight having game consules. Last time we flew from gatwick in 2001 and they didnt have them one upset son.

We fly from Manchester too in May.

I think you will have plenty of time, not sure how long the queues will be though and I guess it depends on if the plane is full.

Our Taxi picks us up at 06:15 so I reckon we will arrive just before 08:00 also.

I am pretty sure we will be flying on a leased aircraft from Air Atlanta, like last year, Manchester never gets the more modern Virgin planes.

I am not sure about the games console but I am pretty sure that last year our plane didn't have one.

Last years Air Atlanta plane had the nintendo games.

We're flying with Virgin, out of Gatwick, in May.

We're staying overnight so that we can use their facility to check in the night before. As I recall, you have to check in before c9pm and thenext day you can walk straight through into Departures.

Has anyone got any experience of this service? It sounds great - so what are the drawbacks!!!!!

there are no drawbacks its a wonderful system. we arrived at gatwick the evening before and started to que up at 4:30 (first in the queue) they opened at 5:00 .had a great choice of seats as we were the first. then left about 10 mins later for a relaxing night.
Next day we did not need to rush or join any queues ,plenty opf time for the duty free.
I only wish they could bring back the Downtown disney early check in then flying would be made simple.
Unfortunately we are not flying virgin this yaer but with Travel city direct ,but we are trying thier 1st class service for £199 each to see if this service is worth the extra money.
Good luck with your trip and you will enjoy the earlr check in.:smooth:

We flew last year in May from manchester under the impression that the aircraft had been leased from Air Atlanta but in fact it was one of their own aircraft in the end and we did have the games consoles.
This year we are flying from Gatwick as there were no seats left for a range of dates from manchester - this being the new free child places as we couldn't get one of those either!!
We're getting the brochure as soon as it comes out and booking straight away to get exactly what we want!!

Disbabe:

The Air Atlanta leased aircraft is in Virgin colours so it appears that it is one of their own planes when in fact it is not.
Confusing I know.
However, the majority of Virgin's 'Jumbos' are the newer 747-400 variety.
The leased aircraft is a 747-200, an older plane basically.

We are flying with Virgin in October from Gatwick. When we flew with them in 2001 there were no computer games:( Do all their planes have the consoles now?

We have flown to Orlando with Virgin 5 times now always from Gatwick and we have not had the Games consoles once on either the journey out or home, thank goodness for Gameboys (although these can't be used during take off and landing). We used Twilight Checkin at Gatwick last year and will always use it from now on, it was wonderful, we had a great time relaxing at the Hilton and just strolled on down to the Gate in the morning when we wanted to- a little earlier than planned to take in the duty free of course
