Check in online or in-person?

We've got a trip coming up and did online check in already, but I'm wondering whether our would really be to better to check in in-person since we have requested a room with a bathtub. Are we more likely to get that in person? Or does it not matter?

What we do most trips is check in online. If we are hoping for a room request of some importance, we'll stop by the front desk when we arrive. The cast member at the desk won't tell you the room number (until it's been cleared for you to enter), but they will see what room is assigned and could likely answer whether or not it has a bathtub. If it doesn't, they might (and I stress might!) be able to switch something to get you what you're requesting. It never hurts to check or ask for a change if the request had not been met.

Like others, I check in on line then stop by the front desk when I get there. My only request is early check in since I drive down and usually get there between noon and 2. I leave my bags in my car and go to the front desk just to let them know I'm actually on property. Sometimes if they know you are there they might push some rooms around to get you into something, sometimes not. I've had them move me to a different room a number of times when I go to the front desk and they realize I'm a single, not so young, woman. I never ask for a different location, just get me a room, I don't care where or what is in it.

We may do both. LOL We always call in and add room requests to our reservation and then we will do the online check-in but skip the room requests online, because they are too generic. Once we receive our room text we will look and see if we like the location and if it's good, then we will go straight to our room, otherwise we will stop in the lobby to try and change it.

We usually do on-line check-in. However, lately we’ve been requesting key cards instead of using a Magic Band, so we stop by the desk anyway for them.

Your odds of receiving your request are increased by visiting the front desk on arrival (before going to your room) and finding out if they were able to honor the request. Your method of check in doesn’t affect your room request odds. Rooms are assigned like a week out and then day of the front desk sometimes can shuffle you around.

We always check in online.

We *almost* always stop at the front desk first.

The times we don't stop at the front desk is if we actually get a text with our room number and are happy with it.

On check in day at a resort when we have a car, can we use the "returning guests" vehicle lane on our first arrival but before our room has been assigned? Curious if the mb/card readers are checking for a valid reservation, or specifically checking for a valid room assignment.

The card reader will recognize you as a resort guest before checkin and after check out
