NC but with the cost of bags for 3 adults and 2 kids, the hassle of getting 2 car seats and possibly a stroller, then add on a rental car because we can't stand relying on WDW transportation, I'm thinking it might be cheaper and less of a hassle to just drive the 10 or 11 hours.

Not having my own transportation will be a little hard to get used to, but I don't want to rent a car and I live even further away to where driving isn't practical for this trip.

We went with my parents 2 years ago and they used Disney transportation. It just about drove DH and I mad waiting around for them! We're just not accustomed to having that extra time sucked out of our vacation! I'm warming up to the idea of having my super awesome comfy minivan for the trip!

On a side note, I'm glad you got your info squared away and now you can start planning!

You guys are killing me by the way! I took a quick nap and went to work for a few hours tonight and I missed 5 pages on this thread!! I need to be in bed not here on Disboards!

I know, I ate dinner, and sat on my butt watching tv (and blowing my nose-I have a cold), and let my lap top battery charge. I came back and we were in the 200s.

I emailed them and asked when we were supposed to choose the incentive. And also asked if they had any news on my itinerary yet (I asked nicely, not impatiently). They only work for another 40 minutes, so hopefully I will hear back from them today........... Do we have an emoticon for someone watching the clock, or tapping their foot impatiently?

OK Deb- how's this

It's sort of like me waiting for my winning phone call.

Are you going to Disneyland in October, or is that the WDW trip you are planning in your head?

HeHe I love Google! My whole family knows if they ask me any thing I'm like- Hold on, let me google it.:goodvibes

I just googled "smiley impatiently waiting" then see what it finds or go to images. It's fun to see what pops up.

I just purchased our YES program (for grandson) and tickets for Oct. 13-20th this year, we're going to try that out. It sounds like a great program and the savings was fantastic.
My DH and I are taking our 2 grandkids- 11 and 5 to WDW- for sure now- but are waiting on our reservations. My DD has a timeshare that trades into Disney resorts and in 2009 we did that and loved it but this time we are having a hard time getting an availibility. I will book through Disney if I get a pin or something but still hoping for the DVC one bedroom.

Anyone else having a problem entering? It says ''Error! Sorry, a communication error occurred.'' I logged off, cleared my cache, reentered my account information and it still says that.

I received this message this morning when I first tried to enter...I do this every morning before going to work. I tried again about 30 minutes later and it accepted my entry.

I have to say, I had a fleeting thought....could I have won and maybe thats why it didn't accept my entry:confused3

Anyways, try again. it may have just been the system itself. Good Luck!

Did you try using a different web browser or restarting your computer?

I am the exact same way - they call me "Google Girl" or "Wiki Woman" :)

If your DD's timeshare falls through, have you considered renting points to get the 1Bdrm? It's probably cheaper than booking trough Disney.

That happened to me yesterday, so I texted my entry.
No problem entering online today.

I had the same thought! LOL. Regarding that, have any of the winners entered just to see if it would let you?

I got the same message, so I did a text entry today.

I tried both IE and FIreFox, both gave the same error.

Then this afternoon I got a phone call saying I had recently entered a sweepstakes and I WON...a 4 night cruise to the Bahamas with my choice of cruise lines and all I have to pay is $98 in taxes. This was not the call I've been waiting for! And it sounds like a scam to me so I didn't give him any info. I got the guy's numbers so I can google it. I'd hate to walk away from a prize, but don't want to be stupid either! Last time my husband won a prize it was reported as income and our tax withholding ended up paying the taxes.

You NEVER have to pay for a prize you have won. You will have to pay taxes, that's inevitable. But you never have to front any money to receive a prize (other than your own expense for a notary). You are right -- your phone call was a scam.

Back to our regularly scheduled subject, OMDD. As I figure it, there are seven days left for drawings (including today) BUT I think we can reasonably expect up to three more business days for notifications, so I'm not giving up hope until March 5. :thumbsup2

Well today would be a very nice day to win a trip. It is my daughters 18th birthday! What a nice gift that would make!:bday:

By the way, people who doubt they will win (people like me :p) You should enter some more Disney Sweepstakes. Latina magazine has a Disney sweepstakes going on, A 4-night trip for 6 to the winner's choice of Walt Disney World in Florida or Disneyland in California. The prize includes airfare, ground transportation, hotel stay, 5-Day Magic Your Way Tickets with Park Hopper Option, a $1,000 Disney gift card, a Disney PhotoPass CD and a Disney's PhotoPass book, a Disney VIP Tour Guide for up to eight hours on one day, and a Disney Character Dining experience. Enter here: http://www.latina.com/magicalmemories

There are others too, Disney Cruise Lines has one going on for a cruise aboard the Disney Magic from NYC to the Bahamas (including one day at WDW.) 8 nights for that one, I believe. Anyways, look at all of them here. http://contests.about.com/od/vacationsweepstakes/tp/DisneySweepstakes.htm

The page is updated every time a new contest comes up. The page is just not about vacations, it has anything to do with Disney.
