I won't be able to make it this time. DH and I are going camping that weekend.

Hey Karen, were you far from the fire near Shakopee yesterday? I had a hard time getting back to Savage from 169 and 41 because of it. They had lots of roads blocked off, so I had trouble getting over to Marshall road.

We're right off 169 & Marystown, so I guess we weren't that far from it if you had troubles getting to Marshall from 41.

I didn't know anything about it, although we saw a TON of firetrucks yesterday. DH and I were at Canterbury playing cards yesterday, and we saw them as we were leaving. We figured all those trucks were out for a drill or something. I guess not.


It was a rough day for us yesterday. DH, a friend of ours, and I work in Best Buy IT, and DH and our friend were among the 130 that got layed off. Both had been there for about 10 years. My job is safe (i'll be working for Accenture once all the contracts are signed. Star Trib article), so my boss let me go home to take care of Joe. We were at Canterbury to blow off some steam.

So sorry, Karen. Our DS used to work at Best Buy, but left nearly 2 years ago to go back to school.

Do we have a time for this meet yet. (I may have missed it.) I talked to DW about it and found out to my dismay that we have plans that night. Go figure since we never have plans. Our kids are singing in a church play. Anyway, timing is the essence here. If we can do the meet early afternoon we can go if not probably not. I'd be bummed. We haven't done a MN meet in years.

Bummer about the Best Buy thing Krn. I've got a good friend there who is also going to Accenture. It sounds BB wasn't very gracious to those they decided to get rid of.
