How long before the flight time do you need to check in on a Virgin flight (Manchester to MCO?).
We're booked through an agent rather than direct so I guess we can't choose seats in advance etc.
Trying to decide whether costs of an airport lounge are justifiable...

Thanks

For international flights, you normally need to check in 3 hours before your flight, however you can check in online from 24 hours before and then you would only need to do bag drop at the airport, meaning you wouldn't have to be there more than about 90 minutes before.

Your booking agent should be able to give you your Virgin locator number, however becaue of the changes being made to VA's fleet, depending when your flight is, you may not be able to pre-book seats anyway.

Just wanted to add that, personally, I would never bother with the cost of a lounge unless I had significant delays to my flight. By the time you get there and check in/drop off bags, you'll have just enough time to check out the duty free shops, have something to eat and/or drink and it will be time to board. Boarding usually begins around 45 minutes before departure.

We used the Manchester Airport lounge for the first time in 2010, because it was the time of the Icelandic volcano and flights were being severely delayed. As it happened our flight left bang on time, but using the facility got our holiday off to a perfect start, it was so relaxing, plenty of snacks and drinks, comfy chairs, free newspapers etc. We enjoyed it so much this time around we have booked the V Room, i think we paid about £75 for 2 adults 2 children. For me my holiday starts once the we've negotiated passport control, so i want to make the most of is as soon as i can.

ditto this...I think the V-Room is worth every penny considering you get your breakfast and drinks etc in the cost of entry. Personally I think its worth getting through to airside nice and early to take advantage of the lounge as it really does make for a most relaxing start to your holiday.:thumbsup2
