Are there any "deals" for dining in Walt Disney World if I:

A) Don't have an annual pass;

B) Am not booking a package;

C) Am not a Florida resident;

D) Don't have any old Quick and Casual vouchers.

Are there any other options that I haven't discovered/thought about?

Thanks tons, for any thoughts on this matter... :scratchin

I think the meal deal, at Animal Kingdom, is an awsome deal. For around 11.00, you get a huge meal, drink, and a voucher for a box of popcorn, or ice cream, and a bottle of water, to use later that day. My family (2 adults/2 kids) split 2 meals, and it was plenty.

Also, consider splitting meals- My DH, and I do this alot.

Have a good trip

If you have AAA, some of the DTD restaurants will give 10% at lunch. (Bongo's, Planet Hollywood)

As mentioned above the AK meal package deal thing is a good deal.

Keep an eye on the "Budget Board " threads and you might find some info you can use. That's where I found out about a Ghirardelli coupon that got us two sundaes for the price of one on our trip last Nov. :cool1:

There are some "better bargains" and some ways to eat cheaper. Budget boarders are fond of the "double cheeseburger/extra bun" trick. Disney will sell you an extra bun for something like a quarter, you split the cheeseburger between two buns. Cosmic Rays has a chicken dinner that is apparently a great deal. We find the sandwiches at Cosmic Rays to be big enough to feed two (the two being myself and my mother who are both light eaters, I don't think my DH would be satisfied). Counter service menus only list the sandwich with fries - but they will sell you the sandwich without fries and you save a buck or something. For sit down, lunch is usually cheaper than dinner - though sometimes there is a difference in menus and qty of food, so there occationally is "you get what you pay for." Disney portions do, however tend to be generous and we've never had an issue splitting.

At guest srevices at the front gates. You'll see signs posted about it as you enter.

Can one get the Disney Dining Experience discount with the Animal Kingdom vouchers? The restaurants that accept the vouchers are listed as restaurants that accept the DDE card...

No, the vouchers are already offering a discount, so other discounts are not applicable. The AK vouchers really are a good value.

Hey, there are some restaurants on 535 or 192 that are cheaper than what you will find on property, so you might want to check them out, if you don't mind leaving the parks to it. For instance, you will find TGIFridays, Hooters, Red Lobster, Chevy's, Orlando Ale House, Carrabas, Outback Steakhouse, and of course the old standbys of McDonalds, Wendy's, Chick Filet, Pizza Hut, Subway, etc. There are also some places that offer all you can eat buffets in some of the off property hotels at pretty reasonable prices.

You could join DVC! ;) They get 10%-20% discounts at about 30 WDW restaurants.

Offsite, you could go to Golden Corral buffet. Better than your average buffet and very economical.

Onsite, avoid character meals. Eat breakfast in your room, sitdown for lunch, and counter service or offsite for dinner.

How do you get the Animial Kingdom meal package?

You can either get this at:
1) Guest Services near Ak entrance *or*
2) at the AK counter service places that honor the AK Meal Deal/Meal Vouchers/Meal Tickets*. You pay for it & get the sheet of tickets at the cash register.
A couple of other things about this program...
the tickets are only redeemable on the day of purchase
the tickets are only redeemable at Animal Kingdom.

*-sheesh, I wish I could remember what the heck this program's *actual* name is!

agnes!

Guest Services are in the hotels and water parks. Guest Relations offices are in the parks and Downtown Disney.:)

Share meals! I find the portions at WDW park restaurants to be quite large. You can easily split a meal - and maybe order an extra appetizer or dessert.
