Cheapest way to stay for fam. of 4 in July?

Is it best to do the stay 4 nights deal, use AAA, or costco or ???

How many nights would you be staying and how old are your kids.

I called about hotel prices for June 23 - June 30. But I think July rates would be the same since its the same "summer" season.

PBH - Bay room $329
HRH - Pool view $324, Garden View $289
RPR - Water view $269, Standard View $239

These were for the Stay 4, play free prices. (You get 2 free tickets.)

My AAA rate at RPR - Water view $215-.20, Standard $191.20

I figured that for us, we were staying 7 nights, the AAA rate + purchasing tickets was cheaper.

Stay & Play rate = 239 * 7 = $1673
AAA rate = 191.20 * 7 = $1338.40

Savings with AAA was $334.60 which was more than the amount I would save with the free tickets ($85 * 2 = $170).

So, without knowing how many days and how old your kids are (there is a buy 1 adult ticket get 1 kids ticket free deal out now I think), I would say stay at the Royal Pacific with a AAA rate and buy 4 of the $85 tickets.

There are others who are more experienced who hopefully will answer you too. I am just in the middle of making my own plans, so I had these numbers here on my desk.

We'd be looking at staying 4 nights. My kids are 8 and 10.

Most people get the best deal using AAA, then they keep checking to see if the APH rate is better.

I agree with the previous posts but I've opted to split my stay and stay offsite for 3 nts.

I'll be arriving 7/21 for 2 nts. I got the AAA rate of 191+tax for a standard room at RPR with a gtd upgrade to a waterview through Loews 1st Gold.

Now even though we're only staying onsite for the 2 nts, thats actually 3 full days with fotl access.

I won a 3 nt stay at the Rosen Plaza on Int'l Dr for 242.00 through Skyauction.com for the remainder of my stay. That same hotel would have been $679.00 through thier site or expedia.

Just a thought, but even if you were to stay onsite for the entire 4 nts, the AAA rate and the current promotion on the Universal website of $85.00 pp for both parks for 7 consc days is a cheaper option.
