Was wondering what is the cheapest way to get to and from universal studios from POR? We will be using ME and wont' have a car. Is there any type of shuttle or anything from the TTC?

mears shuttle is $18 rt for adults.
cheaper for children by $4.

if you have 2 adults and 2 kids in your group, that would be $64.

still cheaper than using private car service or a taxi.

you book the night before at the concierge lobby of your hotel.
you are picked up at your hotel.

tip: secure the earliest pick up time as you will make a few stops along the way in disneyworld before you leave for uo.

Thanks pigletto for the link, my 21 year-old son wants to go to Universal during our May 30- June 8, 2012 trip and now I know how to get him there and back from POFQ.
I have no desire to go so this will be perfect!! :thumbsup2

Most TA's can get you a one day or two day Universal ticket that includes free Mears transfers. No other discounts on the tickets, the transfer is the "discount", and it's a two park ticket. I get them for clients all the time!

We are planning on using Mears shuttle to get to universal studios. It seems like a good deal. I was wondering do we leave the driver a tip ? If so how much ?

i'll probably be booed for this, but if the bus driver/ van driver does not handle any luggage or sort, a tip would not be necessary.

if you want to tip, tip.
if you don't, then don't feel bad about it.

i tip car service since they handle my bags.
when i took ME, i tipped as i carried my bags and had them loaded in the underneath bin on the bus.

i can't remember this question being posed before.
hopefully you will get more responses to guide you.

We tip a couple dollars/person each way. Also the price went up a a dollar. I've used them several times this year and always paid $18.00 r/t. In May the r/t voucher was $19.00. I always purchase mine ahead time at the Mears desk in MCO. You can use them any day.

Depends if you have your tickets yet, but I just booked our park to park tickets through dreams on this board and it includes 2 days of shuttle as well and it was the cheapest option I could find after pricing everything out on multiple sites.

I'm not 100% sure you get two r/t's on the shuttle. Have you double checked that??? The price seems to be about right for 2 days in the parks but one r/t ride only. But, I could be wrong.

I have used the Mears shuttle many times between US/IoA and WDW. It works very nicely. Do I tip?? Sometimes. It depends on the service I got. If the driver did anything out of the ordinary, then yes, I hand over a few bucks. BUT...if he/she just drove the bus and wasn't particularly pleasant or helpful, then no, no tip is forthcoming.
