Hello all,

Quick question... who does the cheapest rates on DLR hotel rooms? We've experienced (and by that I mean staying at them - we've eaten at many Disney hotels) hotels at DLRP but never the DLR (or WDW for that matter) and would really love to spend a day or two at one of the DLR hotels on our trip in 2008. Seeing as we're from the UK, we're not members of any of 'your' vacation club things you have out there so are not eligible for discounts and everywhere I have searched are pretty pricey. I know that all three of the DLR hotels are Deluxe and the prices reflect that but I am just curious to know who does the best deal. We'd have the whole holiday booked with Virgin Holidays and that'd include our hotel but we'd love to maybe just book one room (two would be a waste considering it'd only be for a MAX of 2 nights) and expereicne what it's like. PP, DH or TGC... we're not that fussed. Although TGC is preferable. We'd just want a room only deal as we'll already have AP's and everything else. I was thinking maybe we could use our AP discount on one but by the time we activate them (first day of the holiday - so late July/early August), all rooms would be booked up seeing as it'll be Summer Season.

Of course we'd LOVE to spend ur entire 3 weeks at one of the hotels (a week at each one would be HEAVEN) but just the hotel costs would cost more than the entire holiday would staying at the Hyatt. Maybe one day though... ;)

So, anyone know the best place? I'd really appreciate any help... :)

You don't have to have your AP activated to be able to book a room at an AP rate. Just ask for the rate, then when you check in you have to show your AP, but you'll have it by then. But lately, we haven't gotten very good AP rates so I don't know how helpful the discount will be.

Another source of good rates is travelocity.com and expedia.com. Sometimes they'll have great last minute rates. Not sure if these would be available to you because of your location though.

Other than the automobile clubs, I don't know of any other discounts.

Thanks a lot for the info. I had no idea that all you needed was an AP voucher number. So no matter what we can get a discount now. And if I buy them months before we go like I did this year, we should be able to get a good (well, better than Disneyland.com anyway) rate at one of the hotels. First of all we wanted to stay at the PP but then we thought about the DH and now we're almost set on TGC with a DD view. That would work wouldn't it? I'll probably end up buying the tickets for the holiday in the early part of 2008 (Jan/Feb/March) so then I can just give the voucher number to either the guys at Disney over the phone or DreamsUnlimited and get the AP rate and then just show the then activated AP's when we check in during the second week of our trip?

After you said that your AP doesn't need to be active, I looked for places with AP discounts and DreamsUnlimited seem pretty good. I got a quote for 2 nights and 2 rooms which isn't bad at all. And if we break that into either 1 room for 2 nights or 2 rooms for 1 night, I think it's perfect. It'll add that little extra to our DLR experience!!

Thanks again for the info. ;)
