I am making pom poms for my daughters birthday. I will probably want about 20 of them. It will take about 12 sheets per pom. Where would be the cheapest place to buy this? Would it be cheaper online or in a store?

It's too bad you don't live near me - there's a party supply store that also sells in bulk... When I used to have my own business, I had a link to a gift box company that also sold tissue paper. If I find it, I'll let you know.

The dollar store type places here - we have some 'liquidator/odd lot' places that sell cheap, overstocked stuff - tend to have the bigger packs of plain tissue paper for cheap.

If you have something like that near you, that's where I'd start.

I get the big 40 sheet pack of white tissue for $1 and they also have lots of fun colors but you get less in those packs (I'm thinking 20 but I can't remember).

I just made 22 pompoms for my DD variety show. I bought packs of tissue paper for a $1 each at the DollarTree. We used 1 pack of multicolored for each pompom. It was so much more work than I expected, but they came out really cute. The girls loved them and looked awesome as they danced to Hey Mickey. :cheer2:

You can also use plastic table cloths to make pom-poms. You'd need to cut them into sections - similar in size to tissue paper - and then into strips. But they last longer than tissue paper. I'm a dance teacher and we've done this for dance routines.

You can buy bulk packs of tissue paper at Hobby Lobby and then use a 40% or 50% off coupon on it to make it cheaper. I get Hobby Lobby coupons in my email every week and they are good for 1 item.

Another vote for the Dollar Store. I bought their glittery tissue paper and everyone thought it was so much fun.

I am making these for decoractions to hang up. Will the table cloth still work for that? Or would the tissue paper look better?

The tissue paper would probably look better for decorations. I always get mine at the Dollar Store.

My Target has tissue paper on the clearance end caps all the time- Near the party supplies.

While I'm not a big dollar store fan, it is absolutely the best place to get wrapping & tissue paper.

Hands down Christmas Tree Shops is the cheapest place to get it. They usually have 100 sheet packets of the white. They also have colors but those aren't as inexpensive. If you have one near you head there for it.
