We were looking at flights out of Houston for the fall and see some really cheap flights to Hong Kong and Shanghai starting in August. I just thought I would put that out there and wasn't sure where to put the info. Mods, please move this thread to where it needs to be. Thanks!

If your looking for cheap, id look into all of the China based airlines... Air China(not to be confused with China Airlines), China Southern, China Eastern, etc.

I just booked flights to Hong Kong and Shanghai in Jan for 1300 on Cathay Pacific. I flew with them this past Feb to Hong Long and was happy with the the flights.

For Asian Airlines I only book with Delta/Korean Air. Military booked me on United once and it was a terrible flight after traveling primarily Korean Air every 6 months for 6 years (I lived in Korea). Korean Air treats you right!

You might want to consider flying to Inchon Korea (airport code ICN) and a layover then booking with a Chinese airline.

Note: Korean Air may not be the cheapest but they are my first choice.

I use to work 12 hour shifts for weeks straight at Inchon during military exercises making sure our arrivals got there and found the bus to the base. Its a huge airport. The pre grand opening military tour I went on they said wall to wall in arrival terminal is 3 miles long (where friends and family wait for arrivals to exit the baggage/customs area). When I had multiple American flight landing I used the back corridors and ran from one end to the other trying not to miss the arrivals.l (I had a badge to access the secure areas). They have live entertainment (dance schools, etc) resturants, hotel, nails, massage sa lons, and tons of shopping. Its a small city in itself.

This is good to know. DH and I have flights to Singapore on Korean Air next March that connects in ICN. We used flyer miles, so the choices were limited, but I am generally happy with Delta partners.
