Cheap Prom Dresses at Pennys!

Just wanted to pass this along!

I bought dd17's prom dress at JCpenney back on Mar 1. It was normally $200 on sale for $150...a little more than I wanted to spend for just one night (it's not one that could be worn for something else) but dd loved it so we got it.

Fast forward to yesterday, we were in a different JCP looking around and went to look at the dresses to make sure none came out that she liked better. Anyways, the dress we bought was on clearance for $59.99!!! They were also having some special sale and took another $15 off...so the same exact dress we bought in Mar for $150 cost me $45 instead .

I luckily had my original receipt so I took back one dress today with no problem since I was within the 90 days and it still had the tags on. (had it been within 7 days, they would've just price adjusted, but to save $100 I had no problem returning one!).


So if you're still looking for a prom dress check out Pennys...they may not have the sale still, but the dresses are still very marked down (both Pennys I went to had tons of dresses left)

Thanks for the tip. I was reading this and yelled to my daughter to eat quick and we would run over to Penney's to look at dresses. I go back to look at your post to see what state you live in. Not only are you in the same state as us, but also the same city! I am off to pick up my daughter's friend and we will see how things look in Woodbury. I am guessing you were at a different Penney's but we will give it a try. I don't want to be out too late or the Easter Bunny might not show up. Happy Easter!

Rosedale Mall Pennys had a ton of dresses which is where I found it cheap yesterday. The one is Woodbury is where I originally bought it and returned to today...the had a smaller selection to start with, but it looked like they still had quite a few. (we bought at Rosedale last year too, they have a much bigger selection...almost a whole department compared to a few racks at Woodbury).

Hey jme829, you were right that Woodbury did not have much. My DD did find a sundress and a dressy short dress for a really good price though. I had a coupon to use on top of the sale plus they took off 7.5% for sales tax even though there is no sale tax on clothes in Minnesota. We actually live in North Hudson. My daughter is in 10th grade at the high school. It was fun to see someone else from Hudson on these boards. Thanks again for the tip.

Ok..that is too weird, we're in the main town of Hudson. LOL My dd is a JR at the HS. Glad you found something.. That's the sale I got too, the sales tax off, plus they gave me another $10 off ( I didn't have a coupon, she just applied the discount to my total..I didn't even realize it until I looked at my reciept..I was just happy to find the dress so cheap in the first place..lol).
